| Highlights: 1. Zachary is the New Spock 2. Abrams will direct the movie 3. Nimoy will be in it 4. They are "trying" to figure out a way to put Kirk in it, but they won't do it if it's just stupid | |

| UPDATE- Kirk and McCoy have been signed... Chris Pine as James T. Kirk Zachary Quinto as Spock Karl Urban as Leonard McCoy Simon Pegg as Montgomery Scott Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov Zoë Saldaña as Nyota Uhura John Cho as Hikaru Sulu Simon Pegg as Montgomery Scott Leonard Nimoy as the older Spock Eric Bana as Nero, the villain of the film Eric Bana as the bad guy sounds cool. I don't know that it's 100% confirmed though. Simon Pegg as Scotty sounds dope. Pegg is from Hot Fuzz and Sean Of The Dead. John Cho from Harold and Kumar is Sulu, that could be alright. Sulu had this deep voice though. -HECK!

| This is sounding good to me so far. Not hearing a lot of cheeser stuff. I been watching the new computer graphics Star Treks here the last few weeks. The planets look awesome, the ship looks awesome, I love that too. | |

| Now that we have Kirk and McCoy, the bridge crew is locked in. I like the choice of Kirk. The kid looks familiar. I guess he was in Smokin' Aces. I've seen the movie, didn't like it though. Not so sure with the guy playing McCoy. Doesn't exactly fit for me. But once they're all in costume and spouting the lines, it could all add up. -HECK! | |

| Shatner came out and said the producers are insane for not including him in the new movie. | |

| I think Shatner's a little pissed since Nimoy is going to be in it. Abrahms should totally have Shatner in there, maybe at the end, saying he didn't die in that one Next Generation movie. Or some shit like that. -HECK! | |

| I think just some scene with Shatner and Nimoy sitting in a room, drinking some shots, that would work, they wouldn't even need lines. | |

| Some more casting news- Semi-spoilers, perhaps... Bruce Greenwood has been cast as Captain Christopher Pike, Kirk's predecessor behind the big chair on Enterprise. Pike was the original captain on Trek's first failed pilot. The character was later shown in the original Trek's only two-parter where they played clips from the old school pilot and had Pike in that weird black thing where he could only communicate with a blinking light. Rachel Nichols has joined the cast, from I've read she's going to play Janice Rand. Rand was that blond hottie that appeared on a lot of episodes. Kind of a pseudo main cast member, but not really. She appeared in Trek 6 on Sulu's Excelsior, if memory serves. Finally, one that kind of surprised me... Amanda Grayson, Spock's human mother, will be played by Winona Ryder. Another pretty big name joins the cast, sweet. Spock's mom appeared in an original series episode, then in Trek IV. Filming on the movie started this week. I hear a teaser trailer is in the works. -HECK! | |

| I'm all in on this one. Keith Urban is a great choice for McCoy. I'm comparing their features in my head, and I think the width of their eyes seem to match up pretty well... | |

| Whoops, I meant Karl Urban... He was the guy from Pathfinder, also I think he was in Doom, and I also think he was in The Chornicles of Riddick. I like his stern look. He makes a good nastyface... | |

| Found me a good pic of the new crew on startrek.com I'm happy with most of it. What's good is, if the movie works, these people might sign up for a series... | |

| Sorry, I missed the bottom row of names with the pic. Eric Bana is Nero, the bad guy. Ben Cross is Sarek, Spocks dad. And Winona Ryder is Spocks mom, forget her name at the moment, Amanda or something. | |
