The cast, for their part, talk about the experience of trying to capture the essence of these mythic characters. The piece concludes with a moving tribute to Leonard Nimoy. A New Vision— J.J. Abrams’ vision was not only to create a Star Trek that was a bigger, more action-packed spectacle but also to make the spectacle feel real. Every aspect of production—from unique locations to the use of classic Hollywood camera tricks—was guided by this overall objective. Branching Pods:Savage PressureStarships—Abrams and production designer Scott Chambliss were careful to pay tribute to the design of the original Enterprise, but they also wanted to make it futuristic and cool for a modern audience. Branching Pods:Extra Business Confidentiality Props and Costumes— Property master Russell Bobbitt had the unique challenge of designing props that were both true to the original series and pertinent to today’s technology. Likewise, costume designer Michael Kaplan talks about how he designed costumes that paid homage to what came before yet were relevant and timeless. Score— As a fan of the original series, composer Michael Giacchino embraced the challenge of creating new music for Star Trek while preserving the spirit of Alexander Courage’s celebrated theme. | The Klingons do make an appearance. Sweet. Cannot freakin' wait for this one. Bring it... now! Digital copy is cool. Imagine it would take about 3 years to download on the PSN though. Blimey. -HECK!

| I think the game you download on the PSN, so it'll just take the same amount of time as your regular demo.
I never got the digital copies, but I guess because I don't have a device that they're actually compatible with.

| What device? If you download it from the PSN, it works on your station. Guess the demo and movie would be the same amount of memory. Either way, it will take a while. But I would only watch this flick on my PS3, so why have it taking up space on my PS drive? -HECK! | |

| Nah, the digital copy is for your ipod or whatever other device they're compatible with. It's like so you don't need to convert it to watch it on your hand-held device. The Family Guy Blue Harvest discs had the same thing.
Then in addition to that, that disc has the game demo. It seems the 360's one is already on the disc, but for other platforms you gotta download. Hope the game doesn't suck. Most Star Trek games suck.

| Ah, gotcha. Wonder if it will fit on my next gen iPod Nano. Only thing I have on there is the Caprica trailer. Shockingly good quality. Anyway. The Star Trek game looks weak. Read a review a while back. You're right about Trek games, and this seems to be no different. Most Star Wars games suck ass too. Except Force Unleashed. That's one of the best games I've ever played. If we could get an open-world Trek game, now that would be awesome. There is a Trek MMRPG that's been in development for a long ass time. Looks alright. But I could never cross into the MMRPG arena. Just too much. -HECK! | |

| The time needed to play MMRPGs is unbelievable. I couldn't do it. Whatever happened with the Matrix one they were doing?
Anyway, yeah, Star Trek games - so far - all suck. Star Wars has force Unleashed, and I think the Jedi Knights games are alright. Not perfect, but plenty of fun.

| Good question about The Matrix one. I wonder... MMRPG's not only take up all your time, but you have to pay monthly. I don't get it at all. When I have a new game, I play it a few times a week. I can go months without turning the system on though. Hours every single day? F that. You would think that with 40 years of storyline, they could come up with something good. Nope, just more starships shooting at each other. Tight. Well done. Very creative. -HECK! | |

| If I was the game makers, I'd make a game where Scotty has to beam them up and down the planets. I mean, that's the whole thing. You wait around to hear "beam us up" and then you do it. It's not a perfect game, but I reckon it wouldnt suck. | |

| At one point I was geeked over that Matrix game. Now, not so much. I know a dude who plays the Warcraft game? He's normal, but I almost kicked him when a Warcraft teammate sent him a text because they were playing and wanted him to join. -HECK! | |

| I bought the Trek Blu Ray. Rules. 3-disc set, one is a digital copy. So now I need a DVD drive on my computer. Sucks. Was only $19.99. Shocked. Blu Ray is always super expensive. There was a $24.99 version that was exactly the same but the packaging turns into the Enterprise. Not worth five bucks. The regular DVD with no special features was $14.99. Anyway, the bonus features are sick. Awesome. -HECK! | |

| Regular DVD with no special features is 14.99??? That's insanity
19.99 for this blu ray is tits. I'll get it when I'm out that way, if they don't release it here at a similar price.

| Hey, as long as I'm crashing the thread here, check out Gingerbread mans best scenes from Shrek 3 Cracks me up. Hook threatens GinB and his life flashes before his eyes. He is born, in school, gets married, drives a car, goes to jail, has his legs torn off, gets bionic legs and jumps in a field like the Six Million Dollar Man. Hilarious. Also, it shows him poop a gumdrop at the end when he gets scared. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGOtbkbdMDI | |
