| I found season one and two of TNG kind of sucky. It really takes off in season 3 and stays awesome. | |

| nah, each episode stands alone. I've only watched Season 1 & 2 so far. They both beat the hell out of The Original Series. | |

| Been meaning to post for a few days. Busy. Anyway... Checked this bad boy Thursday night. Like my boy Whizzle, I had some latent Trek expectations. I tried to be objective, but just couldn't. Suffice to say, I was blown away. It wasn't like any Star Trek movie I've ever seen. Not like any action-sci fi movie, either. The look and feel was new, but it was still Trek. It was like I was peeking into my childhood house as an adult, years after another family has moved in and made it home. Still look familiar. I remember a few things. Fond memories. But the furniture was new. Coat of paint here. Make no mistake, I felt home again. That's how this Trek felt. It was hip without trying too hard. Funny without overly silly. Heartfelt but not overly cheesy. Story = A- Special effects = A+ Acting = A- It was executed flawlessly. Little bits here are there for the hardcore Trek fans. Perfectly welcoming for the new Trek fans. Could not be more stoked. Fantastic movie. Fired on all levels. JJ Abrahms got the keys to the Enterprise and fucking nailed it. The Trek franchise will now live long and something something. -HECK! | |

| TNG really kicks up in the 3rd season. Then on the show totally kicked ass. The first two seasons weren't as bad, plenty of cheese though. It gets better. 'The Best of Both Worlds' season three cliffhanger really kicked TNG up a few notches. Loved that two-parter. -HECK! | |

| Can I just watch that two parter and be like 'oh okay, cool'? I might try then.
Glad to hear you chime in. Finally. Dude. Took too long. Next time there's a Star Trek movie, we expect you pronto. No excuses.
And yes, it was tits.
Can anybody fill me (because I'm the only non trekie here it seems) on what kind of fan winks there was in the movie? I didn't really catch anything, I guess. Just barely knew who everybody was.

'The Best Of Both Worlds' (Part 1 & 2) is arguably the best of TNG. My favorite ep's by far. Basic plot is: the Borg are attacking. The only episode you need to see for background is the first appearance of the Borg in the 2nd season episode 'Q Who?'. The Borg pop a few more times later on. Then again in the 8th movie First Contact. I didn't get back to town until Monday the my car wouldn't f'n start on Tuesday and had to take care of biz. Wanted to post that night from the Blackberry but I was half-asleep. There were a few fan nods. Maybe more than I picked up on. Off the top of my head... -Scotty goes "she canna take much more of this!", total throwback. -Old Spock's "you are and always shall be my friend" is from Trek II when he went tits up. Saddest Trek moment for sure. -When Scotty says that the reason he's on that ice planet is he beamed Admiral Archer's beagle away... I figured it was a wink to Enterprise. Scott Bakula played Captain Jonathon Archer and had a beagle. -The entire Kobayashi Maru test was great. In Trek II Kirk is all pimp and admits he cheated the test. Kirstie Alley's character at the beginning is taking the test and wants to know how he beat it. -Home team that died on the shuttle planet jump to Vulcan was wearing a red suit. In the original series every dude wearing a red uniform on a new planet was usually killed like a bitch. -Sulu with the sword was cool. Pulled it out once during the OG series when he was acting drunk. -Majel Barrett was the computer voice, as she has been for every series. -Pike in the wheelchair at the end was apt. Dude was jacked up and was in this weird chair deal. Couldn't talk. Only communicated with a beep for yes, two beeps for no. Probably a lot more, but those are what made me nod with approval. -HECK!

| Was Kirstie Alley fat? Cause she and Shatner would have looked okay on screen together. | |

| Checkov kept saying Vulcan as Wulcan. Kirk sat with his legs crossed in the Captain chair like Shatner used to do. McCoy did a "I'm a doctor, not a !!!!!!" routine. | |

| Which you say not to detract from the fact that this movie was tits. Not a bad thing I could say about it, I swear. It was pimp. I honestly hope the die hardiest, dorkiest of the fans hated it. | |

| Yeah, not to get off topic or anything... hahaha. The movie was tits upon tits. Like the three titied lady from Total Recall, only if she had three more tits under her original three tits. Like a cow or something. -HECK! | |

| I was thinking the same thing. Was about to check the Trek movie site forum. No doubt there is plenty of bitching. Part of me wants to log on and ring their ass up. Any sacred property like Trek is going to have those who can't be satisfied. That Onion segment summed it up really. Some nerd ass bitching about some douchey item out of place. Bottom line is the franchise was on life support. It needed this reboot. -HECK! | |

| It worked too. I won't say bad shit about JJ Abrams for at least a month now. It really was a mighty good effort, and I'll absolutely be watching more movies if they make them. | |

| I'm really stoked to hear a non-Trekkie dug this flick. Shit, I wish all the movies were like that one. TNG and Deep Space Nine have some great moments, too. If you want to check out more Trek. The cast of the movie signed on for a trilogy I believe. At least a sequel. I would imagine the screenplay is being written now. Bring it on. -HECK! | |

| Very good movie. The acting was really good, the story was alright. But what made it so awesome was seeing the characters' origins. If they make a sequel they are going to have to make sure it has a better plot. | |
