You know, something that always interested me and that I thought would be a good story to make into a film or something with Star Trek was the story of Picard on the Stargazer and the Picard-Manouever. I'm sure that that story would translate well to the big screen.

Would be good for a series, but we know how that ends. Made Wesley a bastard child. Haha. -HECK!

| I'd like to see young Wesley killed off in this new timeline. Not a cool death either. Smash him in a malfuntioning turbolift door, or irradiate him with some poor warpcore shielding. Just take him out I says. And don't even show the funeral where they blast him into space, just show the crew move on. | |

Just totally not acknowledge he ever existed. He is of the gay sauce. A whole movie that revolves around taking out baby Wesley Crusher. Or maybe that goes with WT's movie idea... the Stargazer days... Jack Crusher was there. Someone tried to take out Crusher before he banged Bev and had little Wes, but went to the wrong time and killed Jack after the fact. Hmmmmm....... -HECK!

| Wow, it was just so SWEET. Every scene, every line, every shot was perfect. The Enterprise, with guns blazing, coming out of warp in about 2 tenths of a second, I tells ya, I about passed out. On the geekonometer scale, this was a 10.0, the strongest intensity something can have without causing you to call a paramedic. | |

| Hands down, McCoy was (actor who did him) was just the living ****ing presence of Deforest Kelly. Nailed it. It was almost like his ghost came out of the ether and picked the role back up. I loved it. | |

| Spoilers: Man, it was all good. All of it. But the part I respected most, was they just made a new timeline, said screw it to the other. Even after blowing up Vulcan, they didn't try some cheese time travel crap to fix it and erase the movies timeline. They just went for it. Which is brillant, as they don't have to mess with 40 years of Star Trek dogma with the new francise. They can do or say whatever they want, and no one can mess with it. Pike in the wheel chair at the end was cool, it's like he dont' have to go through the big head alien stuff and get burned, but he still winds up in the chair. Nice. I tell ya, I cried when Kirk's old man died. I cried when Spock showed up in the cave. I cried when Spock did the ongoing mission speech at the end, I cried when the Enterprise came out of warp with guns blazing. Thankfully Sandy didn't see the tears, it was dark, I just sipped on my coke. I heard tears and sniffles a lot in the theater, the movie was just overwhelming on a emotional level. Lot of laughter too. I will own this on Blue Ray as soon as it comes out. I will also go back to see it again. | |

| Great movie. Not much story to speak of, I think, but the whole thing was a fun ride and not overly convaluted or anything like that. Heaps fun to watch, whether you're a fan of the originals or not.
I have one questions... who was Winona Ryder in the movie? Seriously, I saw her name in the credits and I was like... for real? The only person I can think of is Spock's mother.
A lot of good (albeit cheap) laughs in the movie.

| yeah, she was Spock's mom. They had some age makeup on her, not too much, but she was looking rougher than normal, that's for sure. | |

| Ah...
I do like that they've just started everything from scratch with this new story. And they didn't overdo the time travel bit by having Leonard Nimoy playing a guitar at the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance and slowly disappearing while he's on stage, only to pop back into action when Kirk and McCoy made out.
If you get my meaning from that... What I was getting at is that Leonard Nimoy ended up being from the alternate time line still, while everybody else was going to go on the live the new time line. They didn't try to confuse the whole thing, and they've made it so that anything could happen from here on.

| Yep, they made it so the last 40 years of Star Trek dogma and storyline that all us Star Trek geeks know is now moot. That way, they can write whatever they want, do whatever they want, and they don't have to research countless books, movies and episodes to see if it gels with what they wrote. They can just cruise around, do what they want. Also, Spock has already given them future technology with the transporter stuff, he can continue to do so, advance the Federation, so they can kick some Borg *** even before they meet. | |

| I like when Kirk was trying to get under Spock's skin. I almost expected him to say he went back to where Vulcan used to be to find Spock's dead mother and then violated her corpse. | |

| Now that I actually think Star Trek is a bit of alright, what should I go after? I'm downloading some of the original series, but I know that's going to suck wild-gator balls.... TNG be worth taking a look at from the start? | |

| Downloading some of TNG now. Will see how that goes. the first few episodes better sell me.
Although I'm still only half way through season 1 of Stargate SG1 (going on a year now), and I rather dig that show.
