DC Universe Online (PS3)

I will see if I gotta a second slot and start a hero. If not, I will kill my villain. He is only level 6.

You get two slots with the free version. You can pay for more, but stuff that. I want to kill my second character off and change it to a villain perhaps. The thing is, DC villains are boring as crap (Barring Batman's villains). Didn't think it'd be that interesting to join them.

I will create a villain. Only have one hero so far.

Uh, you get a choice of 3 mentors, I chose the Circe lady and went the magic route. Joker might have been a mentor, I don't remember.

Also, I found out how to find each other. You hit what they can the D pad. Mine doesn't say D, but it's the far left key on the the 4 small pads to the left of the main pads (circle, square, triangle, X)

You hit that and there is options to find friends to join your group. You have to have the toon name, not the PS3 name.

Then it somehow syncs the game for your group if you hit the right buttons. Haven't tried it yet, but I did watch a video on youtube.

D Pad = Directional Pad.

People are in way too much of a hurry now to the point where you can't make out what the hell they're saying half the time.

I added Wudan as a friend. Not sure if that'll mean anything.

For f's sake. It's like everytime I go to sign on, it has to download a giant update.

Anyway... which villain mentor will let you fly? Luthor?

And we're all on PS3, yeah? Imagine each platform has a different server where players meet. Doubt there is cross-platform mingling...

I dont have a PS3 and cant afford one otherwise I would. The game has a certain appeal to me but I cant play it.

PS3s are pricey for sure. Mine's, I think, 5 years old now, and I just got it from a bonus at work. I couldn't afford a new one if this one died on me. Which, knowing modern technology, it could very well do.

The game lets you chose your own powers and costume, but you can choose from their "inspired by' list and you get some awesome results too. My original character is something I threw together myself. But my second was inspired by Batman.

I still need to make a villain.

Yeah people just walk past you. You're given missions and you need to accomplish the goals. Sometimes you fall into side missions by accident and they'll all just accumulate in your main menu.

I can usually play the game no problem, but I get continuously disconnected on some occasions.

Today I just couldn't connect at all. Damn it.


It looks like Star Wars: The Old Republic will be free-to-play soon enough. I can't wait for that to happen.

I don't know how to link up after the friends deal anyway, but it's a start...

I was added to a group by someone, and they just typed in my name and it asked me to join.

I think that friends just shows if the other is online. I think to fight together, we just have to be in the same city and type in the other persons name and we can join up.

I'm PVE though, not PVP. For an online game, this thing sure is hard to find each other in.

I think that they based it on World of Warcraft and they figured everyone who signed up would be trained with MPORN. MMPORGs. Whatever.

I'm PvE too, sounds better. I'm honestly not sure of the difference, except I think PvP is Player Vs. Player. is this right? Then what is the "E"? "Enemies"?

I haven't done a "baddie" yet, when I get a chance to play, and it's stable, I will create one. And he'll be awesome.

I just always get disconnected when I try to connect. I'll see if I can stop that from happening...

I had a friend from work find me. He added me to a group, we synced the game and fought together. I was easy enough.

We see each other online and give a group invite, then a blue arrow pops up letting us know where everyone is at. It was pretty cool...

Yeah, I played in a random group I found while playing and that's what happened there too. But I didn't know who those people were, so it was kind of boring.
