| I suppose someone has to be the killjoy and post a bad review at some point... I have read this book and honestly, I didn't enjoy it even half as much as the three that came before it. This one was rushed and there is just way too much about it that I don't agree with. When I got to the last 200 pages or so, I was so tempted to just say to hell with finishing it and just put it down. I was more than ready for it to end by this point. ...and I still don't want to see any movie made based on this series. I liked the first three books; I don't need a movie to be able to enjoy them. And I would probably sleep through any movie that they make based on the fourth book. | |

| I am so glad I read these books. I wish I could start all over on my vacation next week. I bought Stephenie Meyer's Sci Fi book. I forget the name of it and it is in the other room and I am too lazy to go get it. I am looking forward to reading it next week. I have heard it is not as good as the Twilight series. I discovered that Stephenie is writing a companion book to Twilight from Edward's point of view so I looked for it online. You guys moght already know this but she has the first 20 pages on her sight. I really enjoyed reading them. I can't wait until she finishes the book. She says it will take her quite a while. She says Edward analyses everything so his point of view takes longer to tell. I think she could definitely keep writing about these characters. We need to know what happens when Renesme grows up. Surely she will tell her story in a later book. | |

| Don't get excited about the companion book, from Edward's pov. It was leaked out, online, and that pissed Stephanie. It was totally torn apart, and given horrible comments. Even though it was ONLY her draft, it didn't matter. She was hurt. So, she said that she wasn't going to finish it. Now, anything is possible... but, I haven't heard differently. | |

| Midnight Sun was leaked. She's put the project on hold indefinitely. She also officially posted the draft that was illegaly released on her site. http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html It's a little over 200 pages and is of course incomplete. But I read it and love what I read. I just wish that I could someday read the whole book. Maybe one day she'll decide that she'll finish it. | |

| I finished ready the 264 pages. I loved it. I want to read the whole book! I hope she finishes it some day. Surely she will. I am now starting to read Host. I think it is good so far. I have just read a few pages but I am interested. | |

| I have The Host. I've had it since...some time in May and I haven't even started on it yet. My mother has read it and said that it was pretty good. But after I suffered through Breaking Dawn, I'm not so sure if I want to start on The Host. My mother has read all four books in the Twilight series and she liked every one of them. She didn't have a problem with the last book but she did agree that it seemed rushed. Other than that, we interpreted the book very differently. She read it and enjoyed it and I suffered through it the same way that I suffered through History in high school.
The first book in the series, I was trying to figure out ways that I might be able to take it into the shower with me so that I wouldn't have to put it down. And the last book, I couldn't wait to put down. I think that if I ever decide to reread them, I will just stop after the third book and not try to reread the last one. I have not been brave enough to venture into the pages of The Host yet.

| Seems like I have said this before but I don't see my reply on here. I really enjoyed reading The Host. I thought it was good. Not as all consuming as Twilight but very good. | |

| I just started the first book in the "Vampire Diary" series. It's o.k. I haven't got very far into it yet. I read the first two "Night World" books books by L.J. Smith. They were good. There is suppose to be a third one coming out. I just looked. I guess they are all written by the same author. | |

| I saw this Twilight movie. I thought it was kind of lame. Couldn't tell why the book's so popular. | |

| Book was better. It was kinda like the movie just gave the basic plot. There was so much more emotion to it in the book. Also, Edward being able to read minds and all the things that were being felt and thought by him and others would be hard to put on the screen. The next movies are suppose to be better. Bigger budget. I hope they are better. | |

| Grant... I didn't waste my time on the movie. But, the book was pretty good. I've read it a few times, actually. Though, if they'd stopped there, with that first book, it would have been better, in my opinion. | |

| You mean you don't like the other books in the series?
I dunno... I don't know if I could really be bothered with the book after that. Particularly if it's just more mushy.
They never really put anything into what Edward was seeing when he read minds. He just said he can read minds from time to time.

| Edward can read minds all the time... except for Bella's. There was supposed to be a book written, from Edwards POV in Twilight. It got tanked. The other three books were ok. But, I felt like they weren't the same as the first. | |

| Right. I dunno, the book didn't do much for me. I thought there'd be a bit of a mystery in there, actually. And they didn't use that werewolf friend of hers that much. | |

| That's because Jacob (the werewolf) comes into play, big time, in book two. Grant, I have read a few different paranormal series books, most recently, if you're interested in that stuff. Vampire books are my fav. And I do like the werewolf stories as well. If you're interested in me giving you some titles and authors, I will. | |

| Sure, of course.
I have the Sookie Stackhouse books (they based the TV show True Blood off them). I only read the first chapter of the first book, but it's pretty good. Definitely a whole lot more mature than Twilight (in that they're for adults, I believe).
The thing I don't understand is Sookie can read minds, just as Edward can.... Both have vampires and normal girls falling for vampires. I don't know, just seems like one of these books influenced the other.
