The Discworld Series

The tales of life on the Disc which sits on the backs of four giant Elephants who stand on the shell of Great A'Tuin the Star Turtle swimming endlessly through space have been around since 1983 when Terry Pratchett first had "The Colour of Magic" printed.

Now Sir Terry Pratchett, who was Knighted in the 2009 New Years Honors, is onto his 38th novel in the series that has the working title "I Shall Wear Midnight" and is expected to be released in 2010. He is arguably the formost Fantasy writer in the world. Since the release of "The Light Fantastic" in 1986 he had written at least one book every year with exception of 2008 and each book frequently goes to the top of the Best-Sellers list.

Almost anyone who has read his books enjoys them (I haven't actually found anyone who hasn't liked at least one of them) and each has their own favorite books, characters, in-series' series or whatever.

So, for those of you who have read the Discworld Novels, which stories are you favorites, which Characters, which in-series series, etc? And which would you suggest to other people read?
