| I was hella stoked when I heard that they were FINALLY making this book into a movie. The storyline, from the Dragonlance series, frakkin' rocks. And Sher is right... I did finally convince her to get it. I TOLD YOU THAT YOU WOULD LOVE IT, SHER! And there are TONS of books that follow this. Plus, books on each individual character, that leads up to the meeting in this first book that you've read. I was a bit miffed that they were going to make this an animated movie... but, it's better than nothing. Because, this story really does kick ass. | |

| And, of course, MY Lucy is playing the voice of Goldmoon, which makes me VERY happy. *swoon* | |

| It should have been a real movie given that LOTR was such a huge success. It had a chance to really score big, but still it is cool that it is being made at all.
BTW Laurana was my fav. character in the book. I have the next book coming, and I have a ton of the other's on my wish list for my b-day and Christmas, so Ron will have an easy time getting my presents.

| Well, that's good to know that you're going to read the series. If you need help with what book to read next, at any point, let me know. The trilogy of the twins was really good. Gives you a lot of back info that I feel is needed. You're right... it could have been really big. But, I don't know if they felt that they could do it justice. Or, maybe they didn't want to take forever to film it. Who knows. I am bummed... but happy, none-the-less, that it's being made. My favorite character? Damn... that's hard, because I love them all. Tanis is just easy to fall in love with, because you get to know him so well. But, I love Goldmoon, and her love for Riverwind, and how strong of a woman she is... and what she becomes (later on). | |

| Let me know what order to read them in. It is very confusing. I ordered a book that starts where the last three ended. I figured it would be a good start. | |

| LOTR took a lot of time and a lot of money. You probably won't see an undertaking like that for a while. Plus this series doesn't seem as well known. You can get away with a lot more if it's animated, computer or otherwise. It's almost advantagous to do that route. -HECK! | |

| and if it does well, they can throw some serious cash behind it later and make it into a big movie trillogy down the line. | |

| Actually, Heck... the Dragonlance series is quite well known. And it's been around for a very long time. You might not know it, but there are tons of people that do know it... and know it well... and LOVE it. But, I can't see them doing a LotR's thing. I don't know if anyone will do that again. | |

| Well the initial budget for all three films was $300 million, with another $200 million tacked on for marketing and advertising. Even that is a stretch for a book series with a huge following.
If this thing can pull down $75 mill or more (after budget) then I can see them going live action. -HECK!

Just wait, as you continue reading the series. You are going to love her even more. She's a great woman, with a strong sense of who she is to become. And she doesn't give up, even if you think she will.

| I ordered The Second Generation. I hope it is a good choice. Some of the books you listed are not available on my book club. Years have passed since the end of the War of the Lance. The Companions of the Lance have returned to their homes, raising children and putting the days of their heroic deeds behind them.
But peace on Krynn comes at a price. The forces of darkness are ever vigilant, searching for ways to erode the balance of power and take control. When subtle changes begin to permeate the fragile peace, new lives are drawn into the web of fate woven around all the races. The time has come to pass the sword—or the staff—to the children of the Lance.
This book of five novellas is set in the time between the Chronicles and Legends trilogies and Dragons of Summer Flame. Jacket art by Matt Stawicki. (Approx. 434 pp.)

| Sherry, I'm going to start a Dragonlance thread in the books section. That will have a list, of the order, suggested, to read in. | |
