Read somewhere that another teen book franchise is coming to the big screen, the first movie is opening in November. Some shit about a vampire in high school and this chick wants to hump or some such nonsense.

Umm that happens to be the Twilight series and they are GREAT books!!!!!!! I'll admit though, I'm sure about seeing it on the big screen. I have my own characters in my head and since the books were so amazing I'm have really high expectations of what I want to see. I just don't want the movies ruining the series for me.

I just heard about this series the other day. I gave the author props. A manuscript she was working on ended up on the net, so she cancelled the book all together.

The reviews I read on Amazon were cracking me up. I get its teen-chick-lit and all that. Not dogging on the series.

Yeah I was sad about the manuscript leak. I was SO looking forward to that book more than the one that DID just come out. But Stefanie Meyer did post what all she had of her manuscript on her site for us to read. I'm actually reading it right now

Stephenie Meyer has written a good series. Book one, "Twilight" was kick ass, all on it's own. I'm looking forward to the movie... but, like Leona said, we've got a certain picture in our heads of the characters.

Are they really interesting books, or do you think they're more geared towards chicks? I don't like sappy crap... but if they're alright, I may give them a go.

I think that you'd find 'em somewhat interesting. There is romance, but action!!! It's a cool series. And it would be nice to have a group of people on here that have read it.

And with every book you already have the characters in mind. Since everybody has their own take it's damn near impossible to find an actor that meets expectations.

Yeah but this is a series that I LOVE!!!!! I think it's my favorite series that I've ever read. (Besides the Redwall books when I was younger) So I don't know.... I guess because of that I'm very sceptical about it. I've seen the cast for it and overall I'm pretty happy. But even after seeing the list, my original characters dominated my mind when I read the fourth book.

I KNOW! Rat bastards! They just didn't want to compete with the release of Twilight. WTF... Twilight would NOT take away from ticket sales for HP! People are too loyal, and devoted, to Harry.

I agree, there was more to it than the studio said. I hate that the release was pushed back so far, but I'm hoping that now the 6th, 7th and 8th movies are released closer to one another... that would be good.

Who knows WHAT they will do... other than pissing fans off and making us wait. But, it would be much nicer if they could deliver the movies before the kids look like they are in their 30's and 40's.
