Looking at HECK!'s signature, I've remembered a problem I had with the Matrix (first one).

So Trinity sticks a gun against the agent's head, says "dodge this," then pulls the trigger. He can dodge bullets without warning that are flying at ultra light speeds from great distances, yet when he has a good one-second warning that he's going to get shot... suddenly he's Tupac Shakur.

Very true. Like he couldn't have done that shifty move once she opened her mouth and chopped blocked her in half.

All the processing power of his brain was aimed at killing Neo, then he was trying to understand what Trinity was saying to him and his CPU bogged down.

The only problem I'v ever had with the Matrix was the timing of the bullets. It makes for a great scene with multiple bullets flying at Neo and he dodges them,

but bullets travel so fast, there is no way that anyone could pull a trigger fast enough to have more than one bullet whizzing past his head. You fire, that first bullet is history, it's done past Neo before you can even think of pulling the trigger the second time, no matter how fast you are.

One could do the math, and figure out how fast the speed of a bullet is, and how fast it takes to shoot a bullet and you would see it's not even close.'

Unfortantly, the Whid is stupid and doesn't have near enough mathmatic skills to prove his point.

The bullets could probably be explained away by either multiple shooters or that the shooters (and the guns) were programs/agents and the like.

yeah, but he gun itself can't shoot that fast, not fast enough to have 3 or 4 bullets in the air at the same time.

You can shoot a gloc pretty quick though?

Or are you saying that when you shoot there would just be one bullet in the air at a time?

The gun was just a part of the matrix itself anyways. It wasn't the 'real world.'

All I'm saying is that when you shoot a bullet, it travels so fast, at the speed of sound or whatever, that by the time you pull the tigger, no matter how fast you are, that the bullet is done gone to it's target.

Even in the Matrix, you couldn't make the gun shoot faster than what it would go.


But, I will concede that you can dodge bullets, so you can move fast enough to do that, maybe, just maybe, the matrix can make it so you can shoot fast enough that the bullets you shoot are in the same general space together.

I can't do the math, but that would be almost PURE INSTANT shooting though.

Unless it's a machine gun though, right? Or an Uzi?

A regular handgun you couldn't do that.

Not even a machine gun in real life can do that. There are some new guns that shoot crazy amounts a second that I have seen on the Military channel, but those shoot thousand of rounds a second, they are small bullets, and are on the cutting edge.

You had a problem with your sentence structure, I think you messed up the meaning. It's like the Germans, they talk weird and say "The house is on the dog", when they mean "The dog in on top of the house".
