Ron and I were 'grandfathers' of INReview, there from the very beginning, and genuinely concerned (more than anyone gave us credit for) about the wellness of the site and staff. While we sometimes cautioned about the more radical decisions and directions the "new staff" chose, it should be noted for the record that we (at least, I) supported the staff completely in all our public efforts.

In its prime, I was devoting about 60 hours a week to INReview. At least. Can't help noting the irony there... since, as you know, that's how all boards start. INReview started that way: Marc and Sean talking to themselves... for months.



As for my rant...

I've lived on Internet forums for nearly a decade, and I know, like you do, that the life of sites like INReivew is cyclical. The universe moves to entropy. After a while, the family gets too big and too splintered, things get blown up, drama ruins relationships, and it isn't about just talking about stuff anymore. It isn't about fun anymore.

So you take your core and you go start again elsewhere. Smaller, more personal... and it's fun again. And I applaud you for doing that here. At least for now, I know it's much happier, just a group of friends. Keep it that way. Lock your forums... shut out Google... make it exclusive...

I don't think I'll be seeing any of you at INReview any time soon, and I sure as hell don't have time to start all over here, especially when it is so widely thought that I am an "ass." But I wish you all well... really...

You're fun folks doing what you think is best, and that's the point of it all anyways...

When I said "I should have just logged in twice a month and not done shit." I was only speaking to the fact I was taken down as a MOD briefly while the powers that be sorted out the staff situation. Nothing to do with anyone in particular.

That other comment was a joke. Like a fart in church I was trying to liven the place up.

I don't know you too well, but never had a prob. Different people took different issue with different people. I can't speak to any of that. As for INR, I'm still there too.

Mike I left mainly because I got sick of a certain issue over there. I was tired of one member, and I was tired of the fact that even when Ron was around, he never did anything. We had threads asking for admin help, and he did NOTHING. He would only respond in crew when he had a problem with a decision that had been made long before he decided to show up. It was annoying as hell.

I came here cause it's where all the crazy fun is!!!

Well, I came here for the fun, but I stayed for the banana smilies!

He's like that shady dude in 70's movies with a trench coat full of misc. things he sells in a back alley but also gives out bits of information about crimes to police detectives that pay him off and play by their own rules because that's how it is on the street.

Well, I enjoy the comments made Marc & Mike. If they felt it necessary to come here to vindicate themselves for some of the things they allege were false about them personally, that's fine. Least they registered, and kept in in the forum in originated it. We can all deal with that I think.

The rant & rave threads had more raves than rant. Only a few people had issues with other people over at INR and that's understandable. I've only been a member for 3 years (and I'm still a member) so I can't say what really happened to make certain people feel the way they do. The fact is they felt they weren't being judged fairly, or they weren't appreciated for what they were trying to do at INR. Some people rubbed some people the wrong way, I suppose. Shit happens. So those individuals removed themselves and started another forum where they could be themselves, and have fun and avoid those people who they couldn't bear any longer.

Not a biggie, in my opinion. They invited some friends who they thought would add something positive, or fun to the site. Everyone had the option of joining here, and still remaining at INR.

It has been said many times over that INreview was the place to be for forum discussions and we all have our memories there, good or bad or both.

I don't know half the Admin staff there, I do know the ones that are here now & I'm getting to know a few more.

I haven't argued with anyone in a while on INR, and I try not to. I like to diffuse anger with a bit of humor, but if I had a strong opinion, I would hope that others respected my opinion and vice versa.

I've noticed a lot of members leave never to return. I've also noted former staff and admin leave for reasons unknown to me. I can only assume it's either forum politics or they found a better place to hang their hat, who knows?

You as owners should perhaps address the issue as to why INR is diminishing from the great forum it was. Have you looked closer into why your forum is not flourishing?

I paid for membership and I donated to your site. I did this after a trial gold membership was offered to me by fuscia. I liked posting and I liked the custom titles that some people had on the site. I would not have done this if it wasn't for the the friendly staff and members who made me feel welcome and were involved on a day to day basis.

Nowadays, you can join forums and have titles, avatars and such without a fee. I was hoping to get the e-mail that comes with the membership but I never got it to work, despite my many emails to Marc & Mike J. I never got a reply, never. This was frustrating, but I never mentioned it again because I was getting the same answer from the staff who didn't know anything about it. Anyway, that's water under the bridge, and I still will visit INR because of thread interests.

I hope whatever you do that you prosper in bring back INR to what it was, and I hope to be there also.

I am looking forward to the end of this bitter feud that is raging on both boards. We're here, we're happy and we like to post. That's all it really is about then, isn't it?

Well if we're going to rant and rave about INR and this new forum (which i guess would be acronymed INJ?), INR was cool, though to be honest, i really only cared about the LoTR stuff, and kinda got into that now defunct RPG for a bit. once those died out, it was kinda boring. didn't really help that i got to mod the LoTR stuff right as it died. oh well, at least i got a cool avatar and title without having to pay for it, or really do anything for that mattter. heh heh i'm such a cheap scumbag.
never really cared enough about the place to have a huge beef with peeps, but yeah, there were definitely some nutjobs there. still anyway, not sure if i'll stick around there, but i'll be around here, looking at...uh...stuff. yeah.

I'm not being sarcastic, I left Inreview because of Mystic, then vented here my frustrations with the place, you included. But if you really like Marc and the site, then give it some time, give him some help.

Despite my rants, and my decision not to post there anymore, I hope Marc pulls it out of the ringer and gets it going again like in the old days.

And in closing, I do realise I'm an ass myself, more or less.
