General thoughts about Inreview...rants and raves.

Really, I got very little to rant about. In fact, I got nothing but good memories of the place. I would say that my time spent there was 92% good times, 3% hard work, and 5% dealing with cornholio's.


I liked Marc, the whole time there, still do, but after years of absence, the guy just don't ever show up to make any changes. I wish him well, and hopefully someday, he can get the board turned around and working.

I had planned on just leaving for a week or two, take some time off after my outburst of wrath with Mystic, but I'v found that I like it over here so much, I'm going to put my time and energy into this place instead. I will still post over at Inreview rarely, if I feel the urge.

But it does feel a lot more laid back over here, and the fruits and nuts are no where to be found.


My biggest complaint about Inreview, besides for the long list of Curley Joes and Bitzwiz44's who showed up, was the cheapness of the whole deal. No avatars, no user title unless you paid some mula. That was cool 4 years ago, but the internet has changed a lot in 4 years, all that stuff is free now, everywhere you go. I'm not cheap, I don't mind floating some coin to help the site, in fact I feel good for doing so.

But to new members showing up, they can't even have an avatar, or change their user title, or have the standard benefits of a average message board, that is low dollar.

I don't know the future. This board will either suceed or tank, Inreview will either have a glorious rebirth or tank, I don't have a crystal ball with me. For now, I have zero animostiy in my heart for Inreview, I'm just burned out on the place, and the only reason I posted there the last year was to interact with my friends. If my friends is over here, then I gotz no reason to be over there on a regular basis.

I will say that the place has a very deep nostalgia for me, and I do hope that it pulls itself together. I have no desire for it to tank.

As for Marc, I dunno, I never figured him out. I think maybe he is one of those guys that have 15 trillion deals going on at once and has way too much to do, and Inreview sunk to the very bottom of his list of things to take care of.

The rest of crew I liked. I found Sean Kelly a little agressive at times, but he was a cool fellow. Sierradadday was awesome and Shadow Stalker.

Mike James was an ass. He never posted, then showed up like he was the boss or whatever.

Ron Ackerman was o.k, but he rarely vistited, and had a love affair for Curley Joe, I think because they had the same politics. I have the same politics almost 100% with Curley Joe, but that guy was a jerk wad.

Ron was cool I guess. I respected him o.k.


Dreamzwalker never posted, and wanted to be an Admin. Whatever. Put zero time into the site, then expect to be the boss.


But all that is typical water under the bridge board politics. I don't miss that part of it.

Nothing but nostalgia. My first message board, a creation I found to be the perfect invention. I don't really care for chat rooms, or the phone, or messenger stuff. Too live. Inreview was new to me when I found it. Just post a thought, then leave. Don't matter if it's a minute or two years, someone can leave a response.

Inreview was an outlet for a bunch of useless thoughts I have, as I normally don't sit around and jabber jaw all day.

Met some awesome people and had a boat load of fun.

I have very fond memories of INR and I do wish the site well. I'm just so much happier here than I was there. I got tired of NOTHING getting done unless either Kris or myself did it and cranky people like Mike James or Ron A. coming in and pissing & moaning after a crew decision was made. I got tired of the lack of growth, the lack of color, avatars for members ect. It is just a very dated forum now. Things progress. INR did not.

My time and energy is all about this place. I hope it grows and we get some new friends to join.

I guess I missed the turn of InR. I had to leave for a while. I missed it. I was super excited when I came back, especially to see that people actually remembered me. That was part of the charm. When I first found InR it was rather new. It was the first message board I ever really posted on. I started with the Freddy vs Jason thread. That's where I met Grant and Larke2000. Supercool. It was also my first taste of ass wipes; enter Mr Blonde. (you remember Mr. Blode right?) Any way. I loved the place. I couldn't wait to check my emails and see what replys I got, and post. I told everyone about it, got a few people to join. I even did a report about it. I talked to people in my real life about people online like I knew them. I met some really cool people, and well your all here now. so thats cool.

When I came back to InR I was glad to be back. I had no idea what was going on behide the sences but I did pick up that something had changed. I still wanted to do what I could to try to help out on the board. Try to breath life into it. I'm not so goood a CPR though. I took a class once in 4th grade. But anyhow, I liked Inreview. I'll still visit from time to time. I feel kinda bad I've been a member for so long and only paid on 6th month subscription to be a Gold Member when it all first started. I still have my gold status though.

I hope this place does well. But hey even if we don't get a bunch of new people. It can always be a place where a group of misfits can come together and chat, and let go, and not have to worry about the Bitwiz's, or the Jack123456 whatever his name was, or the TearUUp's, or the mystics, or the fourmuser3's out there. You get them everwhere, but maybe just maybe not here.

I don't really get the obsession with that board. You guys started over again. Why talk about it? No offense. It just annoyed me. I was the outsider who never would fit in, nor did i really care to. But why.... why why why dwell in it. You all started over so leave it in the past. A message board will never be a job to me. No matter what. And I happen to like being parts of admin staff for boards. I think that one was highly overrated. It isn't a job unless I'm getting paid.

Well, you don't get the obession with the board because you were never really part of the board.
It's not an obsession, it just kinda of like saying goodbye to an old friend (even though I still go to that board others dont)

You know, most of had a lot of good times on that board and it's bitter sweet to see that end is all.

I can only see good right now in In Review. I mean, mostly because I never really had beef with anyone there. I just never felt like I belonged. Once the Clay Aiken board when in the shitter, I was kind of left out in the cold and had to wander to other threads for warmth. No one scorned my love for clay and no one made fun. They just accepted me as the "Thread Killer" and left it at that. I absolutely without a doubt love this board here. So many great peope and I have posted more on this board in a few days than I posted in three months at InReview. Like I said, no beef with anyone, I just feel more involved here and like I was really wanted to be part of the group. Thank you for that.

And that is totally understandable. I've been a member of boards that ended on really bad terms, we would start over again and try to prevent the same problems from happening. And it WAS like saying goodbye to an old friend, but after a while I made myself realize they are nothing but boards, the friendships remain the same, the memories are still there, but I try to keep the bad stuff in the past. I'm horrible about dwelling in the bad, so I'm surely one to talk here! But..... this is a new start for everyone, and hopefully for me too.

Very true Shannon. What made INR special were the people, so now we have a new home, and a much better looking site to boot + we get Shannon here, so that is great IMO.

That's like High School. Lot of memories, lot of nostalgia. I would compare it to changing churches or a job.

nah we just graduated and are now in JC.

When you guys left INR it got really boring.... but then I got my invite and came here and it's awesome!!! You guys were the friends that I didn't have in high school... I was an outcast and at INR I fit it. I could be my crazy self without any critisism. I have met some beautiful people and I'm glad that we have a place to share things with each other.

It's an old Saturday Night Live routine, the one with Mike Myers dressed as a woman, called Coffee Talk. He/she would get all misty eyed and start crying and say "I feel Verklempt".

Might be spelling that wrong. Hell, I know I'm spelling it wrong. It was yiddish (form of Hebrew) for something meaning emotional I think.

Nah, it was good times. Awesome bunch of people. Minus douchebags like Curley of course. I haven't quit the joint, still going by there. No doubt will be here more since the peeps are here.

Of course I plan to undermine everyone and talk crap so half of you go to another message board

Actually, Shannon.... we have friends that we've talked to for four years. You don't understand, because you have your own personal feelings regarding INReview, and MY past. So, allow these people to share their feelings, and remember things about a board that they all spent four years of their lives talking about things regarding the news, favorite shows, their families, ups and downs, etc... They aren't holding on the the past, or being obsessed.

As for me, I'm sad that INR saw this crap happen. But, it's been building in many of us for a long time coming. Marc should have seen this coming.

I haven't "left" INR yet, because I have been away in Colorado, but I need to get over there and take care of the things that I want removed, like my blog, pictures, etc...

I will miss all the posting that we've done. I came to INReview because I found a link to there when I used a search engine to find a place to discuss Harry Potter. Oh man, Sherry showed up right after me, and gaboman came into that forum as well. We spent a lot of time discussing our favorite books, and movies. I will miss the memories of the time put into that. But, I look forward to this place too.

What I like about being here... there isn't staff. We're just here, posting, and enjoying ourselves. People can come here and use an avatar, signatures, they don't have to watch what they say for fear of children coming in here. It's just a much more relaxed place, and I hope that it will stay that way.

One other thing... we can have moving avatars!

I like that it is so relaxed here, so colorful, and the company is awesome.
