Just wanted to wish you all a HAPPY EASTER before we head off to church.
Have you, or are you, doing anything special for this special time of year?
We're having our family over, around 1pm'ish, and having dinner, and celebrating two of the young one's birthdays for the month.
Are any of you celebrating this holiday?
We went to church on Thursday night, for the Maundy Thursday service, where there was a reenactment of the Last Supper. It was AWESOME! We had "Mary Magdalene" sing a song from "Jesus Christ Superstar." I think it was "How Do I Love Him" or something like that. Then, the guy that portrayed Jesus (he really does look the part) sang another song, from the same musical. OMG, it was soooooooooooo powerful. When we all walked out from the supper, it was through the Garden of Gethsemane and Jesus was praying at the rock, and the 11 disciples were sleeping in the garden near him.
Friday, my mom and I went to church, and did an hour of quiet time... you can pray, read, take communion, whatever you want. It's your time of silence. Afterwards, we attended the "Good Friday" luncheon, and then walked the stations that Jesus did, up to his crucifixion, and then we walked the labyrinth, to have time to just think about what he went through on the cross. It was another amazing experience.
