I'm not as up to speed on the MCU as I should be for this film. I've never seen Ironman 3, I've yet to see Civil War, Spiderman Homecoming didn't appeal to me for some reason, and I haven't seen Ragnarok yet. Should get around to that really, at least watch Civil War and Ragnarok before Infinity War come out. Dunno.

I think Civil War is important to the plot, as probably is Thor 3 (probably). Iron Man 3 is a whole lot of nothing; you'll be fine without it. Though I believe one character in that movie shows up in the new Avengers, I can't imagine it has anything to do with anything.
But, really, summaries would be enough to understand it. You just may not get the full impact of what's going on. The Guardians of the Galaxy stuff needs to be watched to understand the infinity stones, if you haven't seen those.

I've seen both Guardians films, I consider it the strongest of the MCU franchises in terms of movie quality, the only MCU films I haven't seen are those that I listed above. I might watch the ones I've missed before the next Avengers film comes out, or read a summary, depends on how I feel I suppose.

You may like Ragnarok if you liked Guardians of the Galaxy. It's different to the other Thor movies.

I'm still excited for this. Got nothing to add. The trailer doesn't necessarily fill me with excitement but I assume the story is going to be much more than Thanos comes, everybody else fights.
2 hours 37 minutes long, apparently. With that kind of run time, you'd hope there's some story in there.

My biggest question in this is: what did Black Widow do to her hair?

Right, and did you catch Scarlet Witch's dress? Girl, I tell you what... I have nothing else, I don't even remember what she was wearing in the trailer.
Is Black Widow's hair different?

She went from sassy red to a dark blonde. I'm going from the picture at the top of the Inrejects portal. I know that Scarlett Johansson has blonde hair but she looked so good in red.
The Scarlet Witch should always look good. Aren't the Olsen twins fashion designers or something?

Yeah, pretty sure her sisters are billionaire fashion moguls. I think she looks good. She has a similar style to them, really. A kind of dirty hippy look.
I really don't remember Black Widow being a red-head in the movies. Just googled it and turns out she totally was, for like 50 movies. May just show how little guys notice about that kind of stuff sometimes.

I saw this yesterday. It's pretty amazing. I did guess the end, like, years ago, but it was still pretty amazing.

I want to see it! My brother's birthday is this month so I'll ask him about seeing this movie together for his present.

I just read a ranking of the 50 Marvel movies over the past few decades, and this movie is #3. I forget was #2 was, and Logan was #1.

The ending kind of left me uncertain about how I felt towards this movie
Spoiler:
because it just seemed kind of abrupt. It was like it was the half-way point of the film and not the final climax and everything just stopped.
I felt
Spoiler:
The Hulk and Vision didn't really get a chance to shine.
and it seems quite clear that
Spoiler:
Dr Strange is playing the long game and did what he did knowing what was going to happen but knowing it was the only way to win, be interesting to find out how.
It was a very good film and it flew by but the ending just kind of confused my feelings.

All very true.
I dug the movie a lot, but it's going to be a pretty long wait to get to the second half of the story.

Ah man, so it's like Infinity War Part 1? I suspect it will be years before Part 2 is ready

They filmed them back to back (or together?). The next movie is out May 3, 2019. It'd be really shitty of them to make a movie like this and then make us wait 5 years for the conclusion.
Originally they announced the movies as "Part 1" and "Part 2" but I think they realized people would figure out the story and eventually changed the names. But I think most people were already savvy.

I finally saw some of Infinity War! It was playing on a loop at CSL Plasma while I was donating. I saw about an hour of the movie, but it was about 45 minutes of the end followed by 15 minutes of the beginning. And it was on mute with subtitles. BUT I enjoyed what I saw. Did Tony Stark and Doctor Strange become friends?
