Avengers (2012)

Absolutely loved this movie. Wasn't a dull moment and it didn't seem as far out as it totally should have. Definitely getting the blu-ray and I see myself watching it every other just, 'just because'.

My favorite part was when Hawkeye shoots the arrow, and like a pimp: Loki catches it. Then it explodes.

Ha ha.

Also, when Hulk DENIED the pilot the ejection. Just took the whole darn seat with pilot and grabbed the sucker.

Also, Captain America gives out tons of orders, all detailed, then turns to Hulk and says "Hulk SMASH!"

Awesome.

Yes, every character was so clearly defined, it just worked so well. Joss Whedon's a bloody genius. I hope he does the second one too.

Hulk punching Thor and throwing Loki around and saying "puny God!" were of course highlights (but everybody thinks that).

I'd say there was a lull in the middle of the movie for a bit, but I can't fault that at all. Overall it was better than the previous Marvel movies. And they've all been pretty kick ass lately.

My favorite part, for sure. I spat out the Hulk Smash line a second before it came on screen. The girlfriend thought I was lame. Totally worth it.

I wouldn't mind a director's cut which just goes on and on and on, regardless of how slow some parts may be. Then I just want a cut which is all the kick ass bits in a nice, concise 40 minute movie. So I can just sit at the edge of my seat and yell HELL YEAH! over and over again.

I failed to stay for the credits and was told by folks at work that Thanos makes an appearance. That will be worth looking for on the Blue Ray.

I even took my Silver Surfer card collection to work, cause one nerdlinger at work thought I didn't know who Thanos was. The audacity.

He ate crow when I showed the old Inrejects thread printed out, the one with all my cards on it.

Yes, Thanos, indeed. It was kind of cool. Only about 2 minutes into the credits.

I read that a 3 hour cut of Avengers will be in cinemas later in the year. Probably just before the blu-ray comes out. Don't know if I'll bother seeing it in cinemas if it's going to be on blu-ray.

I think the extra scenes are mostly Captain America, with a little bit of ... Iron Man? Or Hulk. I forget.

It was a long good movie, I bet the extra is more awesomeness.

Mostly exposition I believe. Could be more action, that'd be cool. But even if it's just dialogue, it's Joss Whedon dialogue. I love to just listen to people say stuff he's written. Fantastic.

It would be nice if they let him do the second Thor movie as well. He has the gift of gab.

I'm sure another Thor movie will come out soon enough. Iron Man's set for next year, after that it seems like Thor 2 will be out, followed by a new Captain America movie in 2014.

After using the Hulk so effectively in The Avengers, a new Hulk movie would be alright. But I don't think Hulk has proved to be that successful (I think the movies may have made some money, but people thought they were pretty crap).

Hulk 1 by Ang Lee was a crap fest, but had some awesome fight scenes.

Hulk 2 was good at first, but on rewatches is sucky. Again the fight scenes were cool enough, but the story was lame.

The origin story is not good, as Hulk fights the Army, which whatever country you live in, your own army is the bad guy and it just doesn't gell with folks.

Avengers, Hulk got to smash some alien scum, the CGI was ramped up some, the actor was a lot smoother, it all worked.

They could just stick Hulk in Iron Man 3. That'd be pretty sweet, their chemistry was good in the Avengers. Haven't heard anything about it though.

Yeah, I think Hulk would do well to just show up in all the new movies and join in the fight, instead of trying to make pure Hulk movies.

Or maybe just as an aside in the story. Fill in a good 15 minutes of the movie. Hulk is going nuts in downtown Tulsa, OK, and the Whid is unable to take care of it by himself. In flies Iron Man to neutralize Hulk, but also protect his buddy Bruce Banner. Because the army shoots to kill.

I could take care of Hulk alone. He's easy. All you do is round up his woman friend and put in a chopper and he sees her and powers down.

I guess I need the chick to make it work, but still I don't need Tony Stark to take out Hulk!

I don't know how strong the Hulk is supposed to be, but he seemed pretty tough in The Avengers. I mean I know he's always shown getting shot and throwing tanks and stuff, and I'm glad they made it obvious he can't pick up Thor's hammer. Makes sense. When he ran straight into that huge robotic slug thing he completely crushed it. And it was awesome. I was bouncing in my seat.

But is The Hulk that strong? Is he supposed to be able to just be an unstoppable force?

Hulk is one of the strongest heroes there is me thinks. Most stuff you do to him, he gets stronger.

If the chick thing didn't work on him, I'd just pick him up and shoot him off into the sun. He can't fly or nothing.

Sandy June got a job last week after two years off. She is making coin and is very cranky. She does not like getting up early.

I don't like getting up early either. She sounds pretty happy about her job on facebook, though if she's like me that could change day by day.

Hm, how would you propose we pick the hulk up. Maybe we'd need to lure him into a rocket or something. But even then he'd bust out. We'd need to propel him out of the atmosphere in one thrust. Otherwise we're done.

Hulk into space is easy.

Think of Greyhound races. They chase a fake rabbit their whole lives and get some dog food in return.

Give hulk an dude that pisses him off, and slowly string him along into space via whatever slow moving Iron man gadget you can think of. Space tether. Slow moving suit. Weather balloon.

Hulk will stupidly follow in his rage, until he is in space, passes out, turns to Banner, gets mad, turns to Hulk, passes out, turns to Banner, repeat, repeat.

Space shuttle flies in, slings his ass into the sun, end of Hulk.

Heh, I like the Space Hulk infinite loop.

The Thanos deal came on right into the credits. You must have bolted, DW.

The end-end-credits had The Avengers in a busted up, tiny restaurant, beat up themselves, eating a Gyro or something. Just sat there, didn't say a word for like a minute.

Will be buying this ASAP. Cannot.

We left as soon as it ended, and I knew in my heart this was wrong, that every other movie had an extra clip, but I was hungry and had plans to go to this giant burrito place.

I had a small window of opportunity while Sandy June was in a good mood. These moments make maybe .01% of normal life. I think credit watching would have put her back into the the 99.99 percentile where my giant burrito eatery would be given the thumbs down.

The burrito was excellent by the way. The name is Freebirds and they are like a Subway that makes burritos, but has their act together. They actually hire folks to do the work. Like 15 people make your burrito. And it is the size of natural gas pipeline.

Even Sandy June had to admire and respect the place.

I will own the Avengers on Blue Ray as soon as it comes out, those bastards better make it soon I tell you.

Avengers is a must have blu-ray for me. Will need to get the 3D version, and will need all special features I can get. If it means buying it twice, then goddamn it I guess I'll have to download the whole thing illegally from the internet. Asshole film companies.

I didn't know about the end-end credit bit, but I had a feeling there may be more. But it was almost 2:30am and I had work the next day. So there was that. I guess 4 minutes wouldn't have hurt.

Back on topic, I wish there was a good place to buy burritos around here.
