| BAD boy actor Charlie Sheen spent Christmas Day in jail after his wife accused him of physically attacking her during a bitter, drunken argument. The feud erupted Christmas morning after Sheen, the star of Channel 9's sitcom sensation Two and a Half Men, flew to Colorado from LA to spend time with wife Brooke Mueller and their twin boys, Max and Bob. The pair had been living apart and had simmering marital problems.
Soon after Sheen arrived at their $7.5 million Aspen chalet, he and Mueller began arguing until Sheen allegedly throttled Mueller, US reports said.
Last night his wife tried to hose down the drama, telling police both had been drinking before the scuffle, according to reports. Police claimed Sheen blew 0.04 while Mueller registered 0.13 on their blood alcohol tests, celebrity website TMZ reported. It was unclear why a blood alcohol test was needed.
The latest drama began about 8.30am, local time, when real estate investor Mueller, 29, placed a 911 call to police.
Police arrived about three hours later and arrested 44-year-old Sheen, whose big screen credits include Platoon, Major League and Wall Street. The Sheriff's Department spokeswoman said: "Officer Rick Magnuson placed Carlos Irwin Estevez, also known as Charlie Sheen, under arrest for second degree assault - a class four felony, menacing - a class five felony, and criminal mischief - a class one misdemeanor. "Aspen Ambulance responded to the scene. The victim did not require transport to the hospital."
An ambulance was called to the scene, but Aspen police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro said the alleged victim did not have to be taken to hospital. Police did not name the alleged victim, but multiple reports in the US named her as Mueller.
Sheen spent the day languishing in the Pitkin County Jail before posting bail to secure his release for $A8700 last night. He mounted a fierce public defence, suggesting his wife was to blame for the fight. "Do not be mislead by appearance," his publicist Stan Rosenfield said. "Appearance and reality can be as different as night and day. It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion."
Sheen told police that Mueller had started the fight, insisting he was defending himself, TMZ reported. He was imprisoned under his real name, Carlos Irwin Estevez.
Mueller has been renting a home in Aspen for the past three months while Sheen worked in LA, Radaronline reported. Despite their separate living arrangements, Sheen had flown to Colorado to visit her for Christmas. The two married in 2008, and in March Mueller gave birth to twin boys.
Sheen is the son of veteran actor Martin Sheen and brother of Breakfast Club star Emilio Estevez. His arrest is the latest in a string of domestic troubles. In 2006, he and then wife Denise Richards divorced, sparking a bitter custody fight. He was hospitalised for a cocaine overdose in 1998 and in 1990 he accidentally shot his then partner Kelly Preston in the arm. They split soon afterwards.
Sheen has five children - two sons with Mueller, two daughters with Richards and another daughter, Cassandra, now 25, with former girlfriend Paula Profit.

| 8.30 in the morning on Christmas day, when you have two very small children in the house and the mother is blowing .13 on an alcohol test?!?! At 8.30 in the morning?!?!? What the hell?
Even considering Charlie Sheen's past, and the fact that it is not cool to hit a woman, his wife was TANKED, you'd have to imagine something not quite normal was going down.

| Also, this story immediately made me think of this blind news item from a couple of weeks ago: This Hollywood bad boy had supposedly cleaned up his act. However, his wife has been consulting very quietly with a prominent divorce attorney, and has also been asking a lot of questions around town about their stock portfolio and bank accounts. We’ve heard it’s because her husband’s former bouts with both substance abuse and the kind of sex that requires a fat bank account have made comeback. While he is working and he still has the fat bank account, he has lost his grip on both fidelity and sobriety. His wife has had enough, and has her foot halfway out the door. Dude, you’d better get your act together before she takes you to the cleaners, because your PR people are going to have a tough time spinning you out of this one. The girl may be pretty, but – in case it hasn’t dawned on you yet – she sure isn’t dumb

| The wife has now told police she made up the story and was drunk when she called 911 (duh). Some are saying she is now telling the truth and there was no domestic violence incident it was a drunken argument that she twisted to make look worse than it was. Some are saying that the violence did happen, but that she has changed her story on a request from Charlie's "people", and that she is going along with the request as she is planning on filing for divorce anyway and they have promised her a larger divorce settlement if she lets this matter go. However the local police are saying that if she changes her story, she may be charged with filing a false police report.
No matter what happens in regards to this matter, you would have to imagine this marriage is going to be over sooner rather than later.

| The human body marks up pretty quick. If he hit her, she would have a black eye, and a whelp or something. A bruised rib.
They should charge her if it was a false statement, as she makes it bad for other women who really get beat. She cries wolf, then the next time, the cops don't treat other real cases as legit.
(if she did make it up...)
Charlie has been a drug addict and womanizer for years, but he never beat a woman in the past, has he?

| I agree with Whidden. If she was struck anything serious there's be a bit of a mark. Most chicks I knew bruise easy enough. Not that I... not that I... uh... never mind.
I don't remember hearing of Charlie beating on women. Drunkard and womanizer, yes. I mean, he hasn't won any awards for acting on Two and a Half Men because I imagine everyone knows he's not "acting".

| He "accidentally" shot on of his other ex-wives/ girlfriends, but I don't recall any other domestic violence allegations. Denise Richards accused him of every other crime under the sun during their divorce, so if he had beaten her, you would imagine she would've used that in the divorce and custody battle. | |

| I was just thinking that the response to Charlie Sheen's domestic abuse case vs the response to Chris Brown's case has been really different. Chris Brown lost all his endorsements, had his songs pulled off the radio, there was a huge public backlash, but Charlie's show still rated as high as before his abuse case, he didn't loose any credibility, hardly anything happened.
Is that because Rihanna is famous and Brooke isn't? Is it because the photo of Rihanna really hit home what the "face" of domestic violence looks like? Is it because Brooke has admitted she was drunk and/ or high when the incident occurred?
You would think Domestic Abuse = Domestic Abuse, but apparently, there are "levels" of abuse, which seems unacceptable to me. Whether you're famous or not, abuse of any form, towards anyone, should be totally unacceptable.

| I think it was cause Sheens was verbal threats, and Brown did the verbal, then went ahead and beat the hell out of her.
Plus, there were photo's of her all beaten up on the news. No he said/she said going on.

| I also think Chris Brown's thing was in public and there's like no doubt it happened. Charlie Sheen's wife looked fine, wasn't beat, but just called the cops on him. He could have threatened her, I dunno, but she did manage to call the cops on his ass and if he was really all over her she either wouldn't have had the chance to, or would have gotten a whoppin' before they arrived. Maybe. | |
