I bet some coin that they show up!

- The Beings of Light are a mysterious race that travel using the Ship of Lights. Called angels by the primitive people on Kobol, these creatures helped them develop the civilization that would become the Twelve Colonies (War of the Gods).
Apparently mistakes were made in the past by these advanced beings, as they seem reluctant to interfere directly with the Colonials or the Terrans. They help Apollo and battlestar Galactica save the Terrans from themselves (Experiment in Terra).
Count Iblis is a fallen member of this race, who has chosen to use his powers for darker purposes (War of the Gods).
Interesting. Isn't it kind of a hail mary story wise to introduce this big plot point? Sure there has been some outside influence... but introducing the Beings of Light in some form is huge.
That wiki entry mentions people on Kobal called these people 'angels'.
Sounded familiar though.
Check out this quote from Leoben, Season 4, "
The Road Less Traveled" (aboard that tiny ship looking for Earth.)
Leoben Conoy: Nothing feels quite like it did before. Does it?
Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: [Holding her temples] What are you doing to me?
Leoben Conoy: All of your life, you forced back the truth by lashing out at everyone around you. Anesthetizing yourself with ambrosia and empty affairs. But you've lost the taste for those petty things.
Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: I'm the same person.
Leoben Conoy: No. There's a void, an emptiness that can only be filled by taking the next step on your journey.
Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: What happened to me the two months I was missing?
Leoben Conoy: I don't know.
Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: The mandala, the paintings, my mother. It had to mean something.
Leoben Conoy: You have to make peace with your past.
Captain Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: Why?
Leoben Conoy: Because that part of you is gone. I told you when I first came aboard this ship that you had changed. I look at you now.
I don't see Kara Thrace. I see an angel blazing with the light of God, an angel eager to lead her people home.

Anders, before he went into surgery in 'No Exit' a few weeks ago...
"Saul, Stay with the fleet. It’s all starting to happen. It’s a miracle. It
a gift from the angels. Please Kara make them stop. "
