"Australia" is Baz Luhrmann's first feature film since the 2001 musical success Moulin Rouge! The highly anticipated film centres on an English aristocrat in the 1930s, played by Nicole Kidman, who comes to northern Australia to sell a cattle property the size of Belgium. After an epic journey across the country with a rough-hewn drover, Hugh Jackman, they are caught in the bombing of Darwin during World War II. Filming began late April 2007 & concluded December 19th 2007. The film is slated for a November 13 2008 release.

I think this will be really good. I love Hugh Jackman and I kind of like Nicole Kikdman in some things, so I have high hopes.

It's not at all Crocodile Dundee stereotyped-Australians. Maybe this will help people to stop thinking we all talk like that.

They were filming this near my house last time I was in Australia. They used a castle near where I live as the backdrop of a few scenes, I think.

That being said, I don't like Baz Luhrmann's style and probably won't watch this.

Hmm... must've been another Nicole Kidman movie...

But I remember Hugh Jackman was there too..... hmm...

I dunno then.

I love Baz Luhrman's style, but I'm interested to see how he does a war epic. Most of his other movies have been camp & over the top.

Right, camp and over the top. That describes him perfectly.

I don't like Australian movies in general, I don't know what it is...

I mean, the accents I heard every day in Australia piss me off in movies. Is that weird?

I couldn't even get into The Castle.

The accents always seem overdone in movies. I agree, I don't like many Australian movies. The Castle was ridiculous, I still haven't watched the whole thing.

I did like Moulin Rouge though. That was very cool. Maybe because it was set in France though, it didn't seem like an Australian movie.

Oh thank goodness, I t hought it was only me that didn't like The Castle.

I mean, I love those guys... The Late Show is awesome and the Panel was awesome... just that movie (and their other movies).

I hated Moulin Rouge. Yoyo loves it... I honestly can't stand it.

But then I loved Chicago, Yoyo hated it. WEEEEIRD.

Yep, it's crappy.

Too long, too much story going on, Nicole Kidman sucks ass.

Hugh Jackman is suposedly awesome in it though, but otherwise it's pretty lame.

Well, my girlfriend and her mom went to see this, on Thanksgiving... they loved it. Heather said she didn't mind that it was almost three hours long, and that she'd take me to see it.

I put it through the HECK Movie Good-or-Shit-ernometor and the results were: crap.

Even though I haven't seen it, the HECK Movie Good-or-Shit-ernometor is nearly flawless.
