Whidden's all new Oklahoma Bird Picture Thread

I try to punch birds out of the sky when they get close. They have all that space to fly. This is man country.

Sorry, that was last post. Yeah it's fun. The patience part is hard. It took me more than 3 years of bird watching to finally see a Summer Tanager. That made it super cool when I finally saw one.

They're beautiful. I just wonder how they'd taste with chestnut dressing and gravy. ROFL...just kidding David. We have boring ol' Florida birds. All they do is poop on my car and tease my cat. At least when I go to the land of toothless men, birds should be a lot more interesting!

We have ugly birds here in San Diego. We have doves, scrub jays, and sparrows with a huge amount of pigeons.

Ruby Throated Hummingbird. Couldn't get focus on him, he is in and out in about 3 seconds. I sat there 20 minutes and have 4 chances (he flies in every 5 minutes like clockwork) and got this one the last pic.

Part of him is slightly focused, I will try harder in the future, ha ha.

I saw a Painted Bunting today in the yard. I called Sandy June and she saw it too.

That's a fine bird right there. Looks almost tropical, didn't know Austraila had things like that.

Aight, The Painted Bunting showed up again and I got some pics that are mine finally. Just the holy grail of birds, it was at the top of my list to see and now I have truly lived dammit.

Dude has yellow, blue, red, green and partial orange. What a neato bird he is. And on my feeder to boot. (and the old tire that holds up the feeder)

Dang Dave, what type of seed are you using? You get such beautiful birds at your feeders.

Just regualar Wal Mart seed, but I been bird watching a few years now, and I just saw my first male painted bunting a few weeks ago on a nature walk and just this week had one show up at the house.

It just takes forever I guess. I still havn't seen a purple martin, and those are supposed to be common.

I had them surgically attached to see if they can help me fly.

Now is that something a bird braid would do? IS IT???

So, uh, what happens when they die someday? You leaving them surgically hooked up to yo head?

No, I wouldn't leave them there. That would be crazy.

You mean besides using my head as a perch?

Not really. They fly around and have fun, then come running back and land on my head or sounders. That's about it.

Oh snap, I just noticed this is an Oklahoma bird thread... I guess cockatiels aren't really native to that area

Umm no, your totally off topic and crashing Dave's thread. You should give yourself some warning points or something.

My bird gives kisses but that's about it.

Tsk, I should give you warning points for suggesting that I give myself warning points.

I think we are beyond warning points, we need a full out I.P. Ban dammit.

Can I say that I like the bird signature and avatar much better than say....the cowboy one (what was it, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne)? I won't get warning points for that will I? I think the birds and flowers are very pretty.

I don't feel the birds and pretty colours really represent Whidden though. When I met the dude, I was constantly worried he'd say, "Take ten steps, pilgrim, then turn and shoot" and he'd start taking paces.

I always made sure I was within ten paces of the nearest exist.

I fear my av and sig make me seem light in the loafers.
