yeah i'm at work, I work at a hospital and my job has to be covered 24/7 so I don't get time off. And I don't get any extra pay. They don't consider new years eve a holiday, only new years day, and even though I'm working half my shift on the day, I clock in on the eve, so no extra pay

I had a pretty sober New Years as well, all our plans seemed to fall through so we ended up having a quiet one at home, watched the fire works on the TV and had a few beers.

I'm not one for massive new years celebrations anyway, save the partying for important things like birthdays.

Happy new year folks. Must say I had an alright night went to Princes street saw a band called Kasabian play I felt bad for them they introduced a special guest guest Noel Gallagher from Oasis and he got a bigger reaction than they did, Calvin Harris was pretty good and the street party was fantastic. The Looney dook however was a bad idea the water was freezing and well things started to shrink.

I survived NYE, and was the designated driver last night. Had a decent night, and brought in the new year in a way that I can feel good about. Though, I'm sicker than a dog, and have almost no voice. Coughing up all this crap, and just feel like someone ran me over with a Mac truck, or something.

Happy 2008! We went to a friend's party, got drunker than drunk, went home and celebrated half the night. First night in years I've even been awake at midnight on New Year's Eve. I have a New Year's resolution, although I've never been one for them...I'm going to go back to my workouts so I can keep in shape. 40 is sneaking up on me.... affraid New Year's is a handy time for working out and dieting, I put on the December five again, (always on the hips...why? why???) and I want to drop about 10 or 15 lbs all together.

We had a good night with a couple of friends. The original plan was to watch the fireworks around the 101, however it just seemed like too much of a hassle to get out of the City, so we went to a nice restaurant with friends, had some beer, went back to their place, had some beer, and watched the fireworks from their roof, had some beer.

Could see the entire city from their roof, and the fireworks looked amazing.

Went home shortly after that (after more beer). Yoyo drove. She had a stomach bug, but she did okay. Got up early the next morning to take care of the dogs.

I saw the fireworks from the Taipei Tower on the news. Looks very, very cool! Same with the IFC Tower fireworks coming out sideways and shit. So awesome. We don't have buildings that tall here to do stuff like that.

Happy New Years to all! We went out to Chili's for ribs at around 7:30. We got home at 9, and like Ron predicted, he was in bed asleep by 10. It was just me and the cat up at midnight.

Yesterday, I kicked some butt on Harry Potter SceneIt. Yeah, like that was a surprise.

2007 was not the best year. I saw my husband go through pain and surgery on his knee, my daughter diagnosed with a bladder reflux condition, and some major work drama and boughts of intense chronic pain for me.

2008, I hope to be able to go back to school and work on becoming a teacher. I am working on editing my book. I'm very hard on myself, and fear holds me back, but I will get this damn thing done and ready to send out feelers for a publisher by my 40th, yeah I f'ing said it  I'll be old this year, b-day this summer.

l will be looking for a job at another school for fall, so I hope I land somewhere good.

Went downtown and got housed. Good times. Was about 6 of us. Big up's to they lady for braving the night whil sick.

Think we got back home about 2am.

Shit, getting a cab back home was hilarious.

We decided to split up, 3 people to a cab. Since we were all racking at illuminate's pad, she and I and another buddy cruised first. We are stumbling through the street looking for a cab. It's like Thunderdome. Dozens of people up and down the sidewalk are lunging in front of every cab. Skanks are getting cabs quite easily. Next thing we know, the other 3 peeps in our group not only had gotten a cab, they called to say they were already back at the apartment. Balls.

Finally illuminate stops a cab in the middle of an intersection during a green light, nails. Now she was up the road, and her voice is barely audible from being sick. I hear this mild shriek and traffic being held up from the stopped cab. I haul ass and start calling back to our buddy who was even farther up the road. Suffice to say we made it, smoked my last cig and racked the F out.

IHOP the next day was the shiz.

haha seriously. skanks and hos kept taking the cabs. I was about to start stripping just to get me a cab. I was almost run over by the cab that finally stopped for us but hey, YOU GOTTA DO WHATCHOO GOTTA DO RIGHT? NYE was fun, but I wish I could have stayed in bed. I'm starting to get over the whole NYE party scene. I think I'd prefer a nice quiet evening at home watching the ball drop. Heck MAY just break up with me now after I said that.

I definitely feel better today but I hear ya kris, I'm doing the coughing up a lung bit too. And I love the disgusted looks I get from people around me. Yeah, LIKE I'M DOING THIS ON PURPOSE. dipshits.
