Big screen "Fantasy" for Murphy
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Eddie Murphy is ready to make dreams come true.
The actor is attached to star in Columbia Pictures' big-screen adaptation of "Fantasy Island."
Murphy will play multiple roles in the film, which is based on the popular TV series that ran from 1978-84 and starred Ricardo Montalban as the mysterious Mr. Roarke. The project is described as a family-oriented comedy.
Murphy, who most recently starred in "Norbit," also earned an Oscar nomination this year for his supporting turn as James "Thunder" Early in "Dreamgirls." He next will reprise his role as the voice of the Donkey in DreamWorks Animation's May 18 release "Shrek the Third."
