First of all, the tune. It's that old Pulp Fiction tune, from the late 60's or 70's, called
Miserlou.
Miserlou is that one that starts with the bass guitar, strumming it fast, like a guitar. Or maybe it is just a guitar riff, on the low strings. Then they put some Clint Eastwood Good the Bad the Ugly music in the background. An awesome tune in it's own way.
Now the Black eyed peas, took it and added some pop track, and some rap and singing. It's a funky blend of the good the bad and the ugly, beatnick stoner hippy 60's guitar, and new age rap pop.
But the best part is the video. It's a blend of the Matrix and Fight Club. All four of them fight. The first fight aint much, just a chinese dude jumping around a lot.
The second fight, it's either a bowling ball or a motercycle helmet, he is kicking it around and bouncing off walls. Looks like some cheapo bullet time was used.
The third fight, and this part cracks me up the most, is the rapper running around the group of men in a fast circle. Almost like Neo ran around the Agent Smiths.
Then the fourth fight, is the chick, and she sings and whips her hair around and flings people around with "jedi force moves".
I havn't laughed so hard at a video in all my long years. And I dig the music too. They blended all my favorite things into a video: The Matrix, Fight Club, the good the bad and the Ugly, Star Wars, stoner hippy beach guitar and it worked.
