| Haha. For reals.
Saw a commercial for it last night talking about the midnight screening... was surprised. Forgot about it. Could really go either way. After The Avengers, I'm not really climbing up the wall to see a super hero flick.
Rotten Tomatoes has it at 84% fresh.
Anyone notice the director's last name is Webb?
Weird.

| It looks presentable enough, I'm sure they did a fairly decent job overall. But I mean, yeah, after Avengers, after Dark Knight... Spider-Man just doesn't do it for me anymore. | |

| The opening smashed here. Biggest Tuesday opening ever. For what that's worth.
Spider-Man is a big enough property. Should do well, unless they lay a giant turd. Even then.
Batman & Robin was garbage. Now we have Nolan's trilogy, so far it's the best superhero flicks ever.
Does that mean a Ghost Rider reboot will win an academy award? Yar. BTW- did anyone bother with the new GR? A buddy of mine said he could barely get through 15 minutes of it.

| oh I watched the new ghost rider the whole way through. I didn't mind it. Wasn't raving about it either, but after the original movie it really wasn't hard to do something a bit better. | |

| Honestly never read those books, but I know the story. That'd be brilliant.
It would depend how integral Spider-Man and some of the X-Men are to the story. Marvel kind of have to work around the fact that those characters aren't available to them at the moment. | |

| Magneto and the X-Men played a large role in the Secret Wars from what I remember. | |

| I would love a Secret Wars movie!
That cross-over was my favorite. Holy smokes.
DC had a good one. Infinite Crisis or something like that. Went overboard trying to tap that well several times.
An Avengers vs. X-Men would be good.
I think the success of the Avengers film proves that the studios that have the rights to Marvel properties need to come together. Heard a Spidey cameo almost made it into Avengers. They were going to show Oscorp in the NYC skyline. At least they're open to it.

| The only problem - if you can call it that - for a Secret Wars film is that with such a large amount the major characters of the Marvel Universe - Spiderman, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the X-Men, Magneto, Doc Doom, Kang the Conquerer, Ultron, Galactus, etc - you could not fit the story into one film. It would have to be two at least, maybe three, just to fully exploit the size of the cast properly. | |

| It'd have to be a series for sure, but the actual obstacle is that Marvel and Disney aren't able to use Spider-Man, X-Men or Fantastic Four characters. They sold the rights to do movies to other studios and those studios won't give them up easily. I honestly doubt the rights will ever revert back to them, the way things are going. | |
