unknown birdnest in my macadamia tree

This pic was taken 6 hours ago. I checked the nest late yesterday afternoon , so the chick is 20 hours old at most

it's just a mouth with legs

Stupid thing thought I was the momma. I guess thats why they call em bird brains

The thng has doubled its size in 2 days. Still thinks Im momma, stupid bird

tell it to quit whining and get a damn job

I posted it on my bird forum I go to, and it's so young that they are having a hard time telling what it is.

Some thought the egg said "house sparrow", but the next it too neat for those.

Have you seen the momma bird at all? Any coloring hints?

Ive tried to get pix of Momma, she hopps around the tree so much I cant get a good shot.

As for her description, she looks.................. pissed off. Does that help?

Yellow pissed off or brown pissed off?

The top one I left huge so you can see mama (right in the middle).

I looked at some pictures of house sparrows on line- looks like her

4 days old today

I don't think it will.

I think that is a House Sparrow. Hard to tell, but it had the eye line thingy above the eye like a female House Sparrow does.

If it is a House Sparrow, it was probably another birds nest and they took it over. They get thuggy sometimes.

Speaking of thuggy, the nest has been raided. Pieces of nest all over the tree. No hatchling in sight. Oh well, maybe next year

Theres another nest on the other side of the tree. I can hear the chicks in it, but it would require busting out the 10' ladder. Too much like work
