| If I couldve picked the draw for the USA , I wouldve gone with South Africa USA Slovenia Algeria. Considering it couldve been Spain Portugal Ivory Coast USA, Im thrilled with 2 out of 3 | |

| I'm giving my support this time to the USA and New Zealand for the reason that England always choke in the big tournaments and I'm not and Englnd fan anyway. Fan of English football yes, fan of the England team no.
Still it'll be interesting to see the US vs. England.

| I read about this earlier, on paper the only threat is England. So the next round is looking likely. If the USA can go deep in this tourney, it would be huge for the sport over here. I can dig it. -HECK! | |

| I wouldn't be too sure of that Heck. England may be the favorites on paper but Algeria and Slovenia aren't bad teams.
Algeria qualified at the expense of Senegal and they have some very good players. Portmouth's Nadir Belhadj and Hassan Yabda (still on loan), Wolfsburg's Karim Ziani, Brussia Monchegladbach's Karim Matmour, Lazio's Mourad Meghni, Blackpool's Hameur Bouazza, VFL Bochum's Antar Yahia, Glasgow Ranger's Madjid Bougherra, Hull City's Kamel Ghilas, Seina's Abdelkader Ghezzal and AEK Athen's Rafik Djebbour. Their not to be under estimated.
Slovenia likewise have some very good players. Udinese's Samis Handanovic, FC Koln's Milivoje Novakovic and Miso Brecko, West Bromwish Albion's Robert Koren, F Moscow's Branko Ilic, K.A.A. Gent's Marko Suler and Zlatan Ljubijankic, Sochaux's Bojan Jokic, Wisla Krakow's Andraz Kirm, Vitesse's Dalibor Stevanovic and Auxerre's Valter Birsa. Not a team to be underestimated.
You dont want to end up like the Scots in the 1978 world cup when they went to Argentina full of hope and confidence that they would win the tournament and ending up beating the big team in their group but failed to beat the smaller teams

| I cant look past Spain to win the world cup myself and I think they can get out of that group easily what I do think though is that Arentina will be out in the first round as Maradonna doesnt seem to be as good managing teams as he was playing in them. Anyway all of this doesnt matter as I haver seen on tv at leasst twice already how england are going to make it to the final and win the tourament we are going to have that up to and through the final complimented by the spirt of 1966 etc etc and they wonder we will support anyone else | |

| Heck- There are no BAD teams in the tournament however, Algeria is the weakest African team in the tournament and Slovenia is Europes equivalent, so the USA is favored to make it to the second round for once. ( probably the first time ever) If we do make it to the second round the likely opponent would be Spain (the best around in my opinion), so getting past the second round would be huge WT- I doubt very seriously that the USA has reached a point in its development where it can be overconfident entering a World Cup | |

| One thing I would say is that in every tournament you are always going to get that team that excel and go further than we expected and I honestly looking at the groups I think it might be Slovenia. You just have to look at them in qualification they finished 4 points ahaead of the Czech rep and 1 behind slovakia they only conceded 4 goals as well thats no mean feat and then to get past Russia in the play off's this is not a bad team really and when you look at the squad it boasts players that play in Italy, france, Netherlands, Russia and England this is clearly not a bad gorup of players that are there. | |

| Oh! I didn't spot the Aussies. Needless to say they have my support as well and I hope they if they face those cheating Italians again that they knock them for six (which is both a cricketing reference and a 2nd El Alamein one) | |

| I totally forgot about that. I only watched them Vs. Brazil in the last World Cup, which was a good match. Didn't expect much of course, but we held our own until the point where we, you know, didn't. Heaps of fun though. | |
