Farmtown

Sandy got me hooked on this garbage. Now I dream about it all night and keep trying to get hired out to work like some street walker.

Very addictive. My farm sucks right now, I just started. I looked at Kris's, very impressive.

Buffy's and Emma's are large and in charge. Sandy's is getting to be pretty good. She needs some houses.

I plan on getting a house and a barn and growing pumpkins when I get to a higher level.

So far, like a vagrant, I'v done odd jobs on Emma's, Buffy's and Kris's farm, and harvested a crop on Sandy's. I'm still poor and don't got much of nothing, but most everyone sent me a tree or a cow or something.

I havn't sent anything out, because I don't know what people want, and figure they are overloaded with cows maybe. Ask and I will send free goods.

I was loitering on Buffy's farm. She has some cabbage ready to harvest.

I cruised in and took a picture of her while working, she didn't see me. I'm so sly.

Dave, don't know if you know this... but, when your crops are ready to harvest, don't do them yourself. Hire someone, at the market, or a friend. It doesn't cost you anything. The person who harvests makes money, the crops get stored for you, and when you sell them at the market, you make even more money. Also, you can harvest for other peeps, and then you make a lot of money that way. My girlfriend and I harvest each others crops, and we make a ton. I'm just about to hit level 28 and she's almost level 31. I've got like half a million bucks saved up, so far. And, I'm at the largest size farm that you can get.... unless they expand. It is a VERY addictive game... and, I think that it's peaceful as hell.

OH a good way to build up experience points and turn out some crops to make money is to plant grapes. You have to have time though. Only plant them if your gonna be back on line to harvest 4 to 7 hours after. It takes them 4 hours to be ready and they go to waste fast. So you only have a couple of hours are they are ready to harvest. but if your online throughout the day you can turn over 2 or 3 maybe even 4 batches of grapes a day. that's how I got my money to get started. But don't waste what money you do have doing it if you don't have time to harvest them, it's horrblie to lose all your money on crops going to waste.

Yeah, if I'm online at the farm, you can ask me to farm, and I will farm some crops, I can make some money.

My new computer blew up last year, and I got this old one out of the closet, I do fine on all the farms, except for Kris's, the farm takes too much memory, and I lose the connection.

I tried to take a sneaky screen shot of her, but I got bumped out, my computer is so turdy.

I wasn't into this at first, but now I spend all day with it running in the background trying to make money and planting grapes and I NEED TO LEVEL UP DAMN IT so I can buy more land.

Thanks for adding me as your neighb whizzle, I only need one more neighbour and then I get my next trophy and can trade stuff.

I just went and asked her and she said she sent you a nieghbor request earlier today. She got bumped off the server several times though, she might need to resend it.

However long it takes your crops to grow, that is the same amount of time you have to harvest them, before they go bad. So, if I'm going out of town, for the weekend, I try to plant coffee, onions, or pumpkins. That way, I have 6 - 8 days.

Yes, Dave I have over half a million dollars on farmtown. I'm holding onto my money, for now. I just hit level 28, about an hour ago... but, there are things that I want to purchase, but can't until I'm level 30.

If you're online, when I get back on ft later, I will hire you, if I have some stuff ready to harvest... that way, you can earn a few bucks.

Sounds good. My computer is slow on your farm, but if it doesn't slow you down, I'll try it out. I need some cash.

My plan is to not spruce up the farm at all, but just plow and plant the most expensive crops I can, at this point corn.

Put it in a rotating shift and check it once a day after work, make money. Later, after I make a lot of coin, then I'll add buildings and walkways and stuff...

Kris's land is well done, I like her house with the gate and path and the flowers. And the river/creek. Awesome.

If Farmtown is running slow, are you using a full screen, or a regular screen while on my farm? That can make a HUGE difference. It just really depends on the computer. I have a new laptop, so I move fairly fast, Dave.


Emma, keep at it, and it could happen! Though, it isn't a race, my friend. The higher up you get in levels, the longer it takes to go up each level. I think that it took me close to a week to go from level 27 - 28. Just keep at it, and it will happen though.


Unfortunately, there seems to be a glitch in adding ft friends. I don't know why... but there are times where you have to accept someones add, then turn around and invite them to be your neighbor as well. I don't know why they haven't fixed it, but it was really bad like a month ago.

This computer is just like about 6 years old. My new one bit the dust. So the memory is only like 700 or something, and when I go in farmtown, the memory usage seems around 600.

When I go to your farm, it goes over what I got, then starts using it off the hard drive, and it gets oh, so slow.

I want to take this computer and hit it with a hammer. The power supply went out on my other one, I need to pick one up and see if that fixes it, so I can enter the 21st century, ha ha.

There is a wrench tool in the top right side of the screen. It's like where the little save disk is at. If you click on that it will give you the option to freeze the animals, and hide buildings and trees. If you do that the page will load better and be faster.
You can also choose to close the gaps between the fields.

Also, the expensive crops aren't always the best to plant, if you have the time 1 day crops can pay off better. You might get more for corn, but that's three days your farm is tied up and not producing, when if you do a 1 day crop that's 3 times you can harvest that crop and make as much if not more money than doing the three day.

This whole thing seems way too complicated.
