| I did this thread yesterday, and me and Mr. F had a convo about what the snake was, but it got erased by MyGoo central command. The thread was mygooed, it's true. Anyhow, it was maybe a western diamondback, or a timber rattler I figure. Seen lots of deer, some kind of jackrabbit, some birds. It was fun. | |

| I think it is a Timber, a guy at work killed one and actually had the skin at work. Wound up giving it to me after I showed him the picture. He said it was a timber. | |

| Why do the Kansans feel the need to call the bison names? Yes, they are sluts, but sheesh.
We have bison on Catalina island. We went to a church camp there way back in the day. We went on a 3 mile hike to Avalon, and we came across 6 of them along the way. We were just quiet and kept our distance. Still, they were way closer than I'd ever get to a cow. | |

| They claim they will gore you to death. Seems they are much more tempermental than a cow. What's Damon think of this thread? O.K., I took my mom up there yesterday, got some more pics. Then she had never been to Kansas, so we drove the extra 15 minutes north and went into Kansas, seen some old barns, an old railroad car, stuff like that. First I'll post a pic of the grasshopper that looked like he was made of gray plastic. | |

| Nikki said she hopes you didn't get run over by "the bulls". She also liked the bug pics. Damon is at soccer practice, and I'm here doing homework with the Nikki-bo. | |

| I never knew that Thistles grew in America but hey you learn something new every day. never seen a Bison in real life while they look nice I tend to stick by the rule that if it has horns it can gore you. | |

| Which one are the thistles? The purple spikey flowers? Bison are kind of cool looking, but I don't think they taste so good. I had a buffalo burger here in Oklahoma, and I got some buffalo steak out in Wyoming, and the thought of it is better than the taste. It's real lean, almost tasteless. I bet it's better for you than cow, but cow has a real flavor to it that is hard to beat. | |

| It's worth trying, at least once. It's tastes o.k., it just don't live up to the hype. Bottom line, is if it was better than cow, they would herd Bison and sell them at the store. | |

| I suppose that's true. The resturant also sells frog legs and gator bits. Haven't tried any. Espically not the frog legs. When I was in grade school I had this art teacher. SHe was a nice lady but I always had dreams that she tied me up like a piniata and got the older classes to slice me up. I'd get away and end up in a swap that was in the cafeteria (there wasn't really one, it was just in my dream) the lunch ladies made frog legs and put them in our food. I had the dream several times and after that I was scared to walk down the hall my art teacher was on by myself, I also wouldn't eat parsley potatoes in the cafeteria because I was convinced it was frog legs and not parsley. | |

Yep that's the thistles, sharp we buggars to.
Never had Buffalo meat, don't get the opportunity over here really but I would certainly give it a go if I had the opportunity.
