actually, yes. haha. we got kicked off a couple projects for a while b/c the popo found weed gardens in those areas. and I know some of that area burned. so i'm sure those people are all very happy right about now.

Media kind of ticked me off, asking Dubbs about Katrina. It's like, let's figure out this situation before we start Monday Morning Quarterbacking the whole thing in comparison to the Katrina response time.

I must say, San Diego people are coming out in full force and donating a shit load of money, supplies, whatever. These people are on it.

I understand why people gripe, cause when the Oklahoma City bombing happened, Clinton came and did a tour and all that. Now I hated old Slick Willy, but I had the social grace to put that aside when he came to give support.

It's not supposed to be a time of politics, it's like a funeral, all the fights are laid aside out of respect for the dead.

But, the society has moved on, now things of this nature are politics and it just gets nasty.

I'm gonna stay old school and just do my thing. A tornado wipes out my house and President Hillary Clinton comes by to offer support, sure my first inclination will be to shout some profanitys, but no no no, I'm going to just accept her support for what it is.

I was glad to see Dubbs here in SD. He's the 'man', like him or not, and he was taking care of business.

I agree, unless he's standing directly in front of a huge forest fire, I'm not impressed. Until I see that prick with a huge hose (which I assume he's seriously lacking), he'll remain a douche in my book. Funny that he got to San Diego much quicker than he even thought about about new orleans (which he was seriously critisized for).

No charges for 10-year-old fire starter

LOS ANGELES - A 10-year-old boy who admitted to starting a 38,000-acre fire last month that destroyed 21 homes in northern Los Angeles County will not be charged, prosecutors said Tuesday.

There was no evidence of intent by the boy who accidentally ignited brush outside his home by playing with matches, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.

Authorities are referring the case to the Department of Children and Family Services to determine if further steps are necessary. No other information about the investigation was released because the case involves a minor.

Law experts had said prosecutors would have trouble getting a conviction against the boy because it would be difficult to prove he intended to cause harm.

I've read about it, I've been taught not to do it, but I've never actually heard of someone doing it firsthand.

Me either. I mean, I've heard of young morons starting fires because they think it's funny, but never heard of a kid actually playing with matches for the hell of it.

San Diego Gas and Electric was hit with a class action law suit today saying they are to blame for the two area fires here last month. The suit says that becuase the company did not clear brush around their lines in the backcountry and tether the lines to keep them from swaying, they are responsible.


Hmmm, no cause has been found so far for the fires, so they are jumping the gun and going for the deep pockets.

It was so damn windy the night before though, it could have been anything. I was going through Hemet on that Sunday and I couldn't see the road. I was getting douched by sand.
