| I'm glad to hear you all are ok for now. I just got a call from my best friend who moved to San Diego 9 months ago, she said the fire is 2 miles from her, she's been off work all week and they've been told to stay home unless they get evac orders to go. Many prayers for you all out there, I've been thru the hurricane, and as terrifying as that was, it's not like fire. We get the wildfires down here too, it went on for months last winter. David, don't you remember when N Ft Myers burned, we were either juniors or seniors? I remember the air had a greenish/yellowish cast and it was SO hard to breathe. I can't even imagine how bad the air quality is in So. Cal. | |

| Thanks Amy. My brother-in-law was just here and was talking to the fire marshall up in Crest. The Harris Fire is the big danger to Crest right now. The winds are changing, and if the fire goes over the mountain, it will hit Dehesa valley and Crest is on the other side of it. There is nothing but brush, so it will be a long night for the residents of Crest. My brother-in-law and nephew are staying there tonight to guard against looters, so they will come when they get the evac orders. | |

yeah, it got real smokey there. I didn't mind it so much cause I like the smell of wood smoke, but lots of people had asthma and weak lungs, all those poor old people had a hard time of it.

| Speaking of queefs. Did anybody see the Governator today. A reporter was trying to ask about the military c-130 fire-tankers that were gassed and ready to go days ago, but werent allowed to help out till today. Every time she tried to ask he would say something like ''no mistakes were made'' , or ''you can keep looking , but you wont find any mistakes'', or ''the report is all good news''. The fires are still burning and it sounds like the cover-up is on already

| On a more personal note - the in-laws went back to Crest ( Damon moped for an hour when Auntie Viv left). Crest isnt out of the woods yet though, one good shift in the wind direction and they might be on their way back tomorrow ( Damon would be stoked ) | |

| The news just interviewed a guy named Eddie Chapman. He saved his house by staying behind with a couple of hoses. When his son ( a sheriff ) came by to force him to evacuate, Eddie refused. Not only does the son give in , but he shirks his duties in a time of emergency to save his dads house. I dont care if Eddie wants to risk his life for his house or not ( they are already finding bodies of people who did the same ), but at a time when police are short handed ( even with all police and sheriffs reserves on mandatory duty ) , any law enforcement officer abandoning his post without a valid reason should be fired on the spot | |

| Some anus breath on MySpace posted or re-posted or whatever-the-fuck this message about the fires being a way for terrorists to attack us. This is a perfect example of why we need an IQ test at every Best Buy or Circuit City before you can buy a computer. Anyway. Yeah, I can see these crazy bastards waiting until the winds in So Cal reach Twister-esque velocity before flicking lit cigaratte's into Fallbrook. Masterful. Of course Malibu got hit too. In a weird sort of way, isn't it easier for the super rich to lose property because they can more readily replace it, right? Not saying that anyone should lose their stuff, not at all. But if Johnny Blue Collar loses his place in Chula Vista, it's going to hit harder in the wallet than Mel Gibson losing one of 4 houses he has. Just a thought. Again, no one should experience this type of loss. It's terrible. -HECK! | |

| Hey peeps! I'm alive and kickin.' We had family staying with us, but they have all gone home. It was great that they didn't lose their homes... but I really like having people leave after a short visit. I don't do long time talks with people. I need to just veg and do my own thing... even in a room with friends, family, etc... Heck, the smoke is nasty. My lungs and throat are killing me. But, I haven't stopped smoking my cloves. I'm up to, at least, a pack a day. I know that I need to quit... but not right now.
Glad to know that you and Illuminate are both safe.
Hey, did you guys look at the sun, while it was setting, the last two nights? Blood red. Frakkin' awesome.

The SD peeps are doing good. I tried smoking a cig, couldn't do it. Felt like I was smoking a tree. The sky is weird alright. Looks cool though. Weird to have all this shit going on. | Hi all, Yep, I'm fine. I don't live near where the danger zones were. I have a bunch of friends in north county, Ramona, Julian and Chula Vista though, I've been checking up on all of them. I work in Escondido so the office was closed until this morning. I can't stand being outside, I can't breathe well. I'm having to use my inhaler constantly and I'm gettin' nosebleeds up the ying-yang. I'm glad to hear everyone is okay. I was thinking about my fellow SD peeps, hoping you were out of danger. Funny thing, I had no idea about any of the other fires since all we hear is SD info out here. I had some friends call to see how I was and to say they were fine - I had no idea they were in danger also. And I'm sorry, but being arrogant and staying at your house instead of evacuating is stupid. It's people like them that makes a fire fighter's job harder, and it puts other people and their homes at risk b/c the fire fighters have to take the time to get the arrogant ones to realize they're asses. i work in a fire-reduction agency, we preach about this to landowners all the time, and people that work here are the same arrogant people that refuse to leave. ridiculous. I realize losing a home is awful, but it's better than losing your life, or causing someone else to die.

-HECK! I caught his speech this afternoon. He said all the predictable '' the government is behind you'' stuff, and shook Arnies hand a few times. I counted 6 fire trucks ( pumpers ) behind him, along with about 100 firefighters. Homes are still burning, but apparently it is more important to use them as a backdrop for a photo -op. I hate polticians
