Only just started this one, about 2 chapters in. Well written, and somewhat intriguing so far... plus the characters are interesting, so that's a plus. Absolutely no idea what the story's going to be about, though. Lisey (Lisa) is a widow whose husband, Scott, was a best selling author (when alive), and 2 years after his death she finally gets around to cleaning out his junk. In the second chapter she has a memory of the day her husband got shot, 14 or more years ago. That's all I've gotten so far.

Gotten further... basically someone's threatening Lisey for her husband's manuscripts (meaning the unfinished work he's left behind), and her sister's gone nutso. Also, she's having memories about her husband she seems to have previously repressed. One of the repressed memories is the night he proposed to her. He stood her up for a date that night, eventually showing up half drunk. When she got mad, he seemed to regress into his child-self... he went out to the greenhouse and cut himself on a greenhouse window to give Lisey the "bool" or "blood bool." The bools are mentioned repeatedly, but I have no idea what exactly they're supposed to mean or represent yet.

Did you ever finish?

I got about 3 chapters in, couldn't stand it, and gave up. Very rare I give up on a King book. Just couldn't make it work...

I gave up about half way through. It seemed to be building to something that may be half-way decent, but I seriously didn't give a toss by that point.

It may have a good ending. I'll never know...
