I do NOT sound like I'm from Wisconsin or Chicago!!! I will ocassionally have a bit of a southern accent in certain words... but, for the most part, it's just a southern Cali accent (or lack there of).

Most people take a while to guess my accent. One dude in a Costco got me pegged though. He was demoing the wine he was importing out here to Taiwan, and we chatted. He told me straight, you're from Australia, right? New South Wales. I was like what the hell.

Especially cause he was English.

I mean, news casters in Australia apparently have "no accent" - but, damn, it comes through all bright and shiny when you haven't heard it for a year or two.
