| This show could be cool, if they get a good story and if a Terminator shows up every now and then. Then again, it could suck. Sarah and John:

| Hmmmmm... not sure if I will like it! As you stated... they will need some damn good scripts! And you've got to have the Terminator show up now and again too. | |

| She was River Tam. A lot of good serial-type TV shows on now, doing one on Terminator (filling in the gap between 2 and 3, and perhaps with a bit of material from between 1 and 2) isn't a bad idea. | |

| I like the idea of having a super-tough, yet tiny terminator. In the first movie they were talkin' about how the whole point of the terminator looking like that is so they can better infultrate the human headquaters. Having them all look like Arnie kind of defeats the purpose...
It still could suck, though.
I don't think a network's picked it up yet. | |

| That chick did kick some major ass in the Firefly movie. Whooped up those Reaver dudes. Robert Patrick should guest star. You know he doesn't have much else to do. Not trying to cap, I like the dude in movies and whatever. -HECK! | |

| Robert Patrick showing up wouldn't be too bad an idea. He spent like 2 years on the X-files when it was going down the toilet, so this couldn't be worse. | |

| My thoughts exactly. I would imagine the special effects have caught up enough where you could put a good looking melty T-1000 CGI on TV that would look like the movie. Bring back Patrick, that would be dope. Not sure exactly what we can accomplish from this show. We've seen Terminator 3, we know it all still goes down, Sarah Connor dies, yadda, yadda. A little anti-climatic. -HECK! | |

| You're right on the special effects. Seriously, give a nerd a subscription to playboy and he'll probably be able to do you up a T-1000 exploding into a slash of mercury in a couple of hours. TV is really where it's at lately. The budget for TV shows is getting bigger and bigger as networks are receiving HUGE sponsorship offers for a lot of shows. Shows like heroes show people doing all kinds of weird and funky things, so no reason why we couldn't bring robots into the mix. | |

| 'Terminator' Series Scraps School ScenesA U.S. TV series based on The Terminator movies has axed a storyline because of its similarities to the Virginia Tech massacre. The Sarah Connor Chronicles is scheduled to be aired next year and follows a mother trying to protect her son from mankind. But a scene where character John Connor is attacked at school has been axed by TV network Fox, following the mass killings at the university in Virginia in April. Josh Friedman, an executive producer on the Fox TV show, says he is working on a revised storyline. The title role has been given to British actress Lena Headey, who has previously appeared in The Brothers Grimm and Ripley's Game. | |

| A look at the pilot script (Spoilers!)by Keith McDuffee When I heard of this new series coming to FOX, I had mixed reactions. I'm a big fan of the Terminator franchise, so first there was a feeling of excitement. That feeling quickly changed to fear when the premise was revealed, which changed once more to my just not giving a crap anymore. I recently got the opportunity to read the pilot script for this show, so I went from not caring to mild curiosity. Could this show pull off a worthwhile addition to the Terminator series of movies? I was about to find out. I should warn you, though -- big spoilers ahead, so tread carefully. In case you're not up to speed with the premise for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I'll give it to you briefly. The series picks up sometime between the second and third movies, with Sarah and her future humanity-saving son, John, on the run and in hiding from, well, any Terminators that might happen to be coming back after him. Having the series pick up that void between the last two movies makes sense, though where the series has to be careful is how it works its way into what would eventually become the third movie. One would hope that won't be a problem, as the series is developed by the same people who produced the Terminator movies. A pilot script for a science fiction series is tough to fully review, as you're left to your own imagination with the effects, which can be a good thing and a bad thing. I will say the script does a great job of selling the show to the reader, giving you a sense of excitement and awesomeness of what you're "seeing" unfold. One question I had going into this read was whether the show would feature on something other than Terminators entering the scene again. I can tell you that they're definitely in this series in a big way. And much like the movies, we've got both a terminating Terminator and a protecting one, and the protector isn't Arnold -- far from it. In fact -- and here's the spoiler -- it's a hot, female classmate of John's! (Update: Old TVSer Ryan tells me this must be the role meant for Summer Glau.) The pilot episode of course features John, Sarah and Terminator trying to flee the big, bad Terminator out to destroy them (all of which, as far as I can tell from the script, are nothing more than T-800/850 models). As I read the script, I started to wonder if this was it -- just another cat-and-mouse chase, only this time lasting 20-some-odd number of episodes. It's not until the final moments of the pilot that you realize there's going to be more to this series. In a way that I'll leave for you to find out for yourself, Sarah, John and girl Terminator make a time jump from 1998 to 2006 -- naked. It's there where the trio hopes to track down the true source of Skynet's activation and hopefully change the fate of humanity, but don't we already know what happens having seen T3? Even with the cool twists here and there, I'm not sure about this one. There's a possibility we've got more surprises planned for later episodes, but so far I'm not sold -- and I shouldn't be, as this is just a pilot script, one that will very likely be retooled. The show's success is going to depend a lot on what time slot it appears in and whether casual viewers are going to be OK with the Governator not being in it. There's also clearly going to be a time commitment for people -- this isn't a show you'll easily be able to jump in and out of without feeling somewhat lost. No doubt we'll eventually see a pilot screener and we'll have a better idea of how this will play out on screen, but at least so far I'm definitely willing to give that screener a chance. | |

| It has a lot of potential, absolutely. I can see it being great, I can see it being a steaming turd. I've seen FOX torpedo certain shows. Odds are it will fail, probably because #1: most new shows eat shit. #2: FOX is known for having an extremely short leash with new shows doing piss ratings. #3: this show is one of those 'trend' shows. Right now, science fiction is big. It's the same way with game shows. When 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' came out, each network came out with a few game shows. When 'Lost' came out, every other show had some freaky, secret premise. Right now with the success of Heroes, science fiction is coming up so now we are going to have a slew of sci-fi shows that are rushed into production with flimsy scripts and piss poor production. -HECK! | |

| I'm happy with the concept in theory, but Terminator 3 was such a turdy storyline, the time travel is getting so convoluted at this point. We sent one back, no we sent two, no 4, no we sent a bunch of them back,
I would be happy if they scrapped the storyline of 3, called it an alternate timeline, and started brand new plot after part 2.
That way, the future is still in limbo, the story can go somewhere, instead of lets do what we can to tie this into part 3.

| I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the TV series will have something that makes the T3 reality different. Obviously the timeline changed if T3 took place, so they wouldn't look totally lame switching it up. -HECK! | |

| I'm downloading the pilot episode as we speak (or as I type). I hope I get to watch it tonight. If someone can find me a web server that lets me upload about 700 megs for free, I'll totally upload it too. The ones I can find only allow 100 megs. | |

| Yeah, I'd like the Serenity chick to say something about the timeline of part 3, but then say she was sent back to prevent the war and the death of Sarah from cancer, etc, etc., that her job is to erase that timeline and stop the war. That would make sense. And anything with that ugly chick, Claire Danes, erase her out of it too! Make it so they have a goal. | |
