Hugh Grant Arrested For Alleged Bean Attack

LONDON -- Hugh Grant has been arrested for allegedly throwing a container of baked beans at a photographer, London police said.
The Metropolitan Police don't identify suspects who haven't been charged, but said a 46-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of assault and released on bail. No charges have been filed, police said.
Grant's lawyers weren't immediately available for comment.
Photographer Ian Whittaker told the Daily Star tabloid that Grant had kicked him and shouted abuse before hurling the beans at him Tuesday morning.
The newspaper ran photos Wednesday showing the actor holding a plastic tub over his head.
Grant's screen credits include "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Notting Hill" and "About a Boy."

I almost peed in my pants I laughed so hard - picturing a can of beans in the air. i don't know why that was so funny.

why are courts being sympathetic to paparazzi who cross the line? If a random person on the street gets in a normal unfamous person's face, i'm SURE there will be a brawl and no one would do a thing. But put a camera in front of one of them and a big name on the other and MAN, the law must take over. and they take the wrong side!

I understand that these celebs have to be in the public eye, that's fine. but man, take your photos from afar. You see them walking in the street and the paps are RIGHT in their face! that's just rude. And THEY get rights? please. the more the courts rule in the paps favor, the more they're gonna keep doing it.

I would have tossed the beans at them too... if I was being harrassed by them. Good on Hugh.

It's a joke that the paparazzi thinks that they can get away with the things that they do. I would NEVER want to be a celebrity, because you can't have any privacy, unless you hide, somehow.

Throwing beans is always good comedic fun, even for the media...

Hehe, you know that commercial with that dude and the dog selling baked beans. "Roll that beautiful bean footage..." The dog is the only one that knows the secret recipe, but then the dog talks so the guy gets nervous. What beans are those?
