| Baltar's trial begins aboard the Galactica, but the secrets he reveals might rip the fleet apart. | |

| Oh yeah... I'm sure that when Baltar was the VP, he was "close" to Roslin (no, not in that way, pervs) and maybe found out some stuff. What if Six tells him someone that IS a cylon, and Baltar says this during his trial, and it's true? | |

What if Six tells him someone that IS a cylon, and Baltar says this during his trial, and it's true? That would be some leverage. Six of course could torpedo Blatar by talking about his involvement in the initial attack. -HECK!

| You know, Apollo could be a cylon. If his own defense attorney is a toaster, then he could get a mis-trial. | |

| Damn, wouldn't that be something if Apollo were a toaster?! And what if he's known it, all along, and played everyone! Or, whoever it is that is revealed has either known it, or suspected it, for a long time, and just hasn't admitted it. It's going to be interesting. Well, unless it's some no name, no time on the camera character that gets discovered as a cylon. | |

| Recap: As the fleet Jumps toward the Ionian Nebula, a mysterious landmark on the way to Earth, a strange mood settles over its citizens. Roslin dreams vivid dreams, Tigh and Anders inexplicably struggle to hear a static-laced song on the radio, and a few lost souls turn to Gaius Baltar with a devotion that borders on religious worship.
Amidst all this, Baltar's trial for treason begins. William Adama sits on the judges' tribunal, while his son, Lee, assists attorney Romo Lampkin on Baltar's defense team.
Then Racetrack returns from a scouting mission with the chilling news that a Cylon force is secretly pursuing the human fleet. As Adama, Tigh, and Roslin confer about this crisis, Lee notices an apparent triviality: there's something peculiar about the special tea that Roslin is drinking.
Tigh interrogates the prisoner Caprica Six about the pursuing Cylons. She confesses that the human fleet's fuel ship emits a quirky radiation signature that the Cylons can track. Oddly, she then torments Tigh with questions about his dead wife, Ellen.
Rattled, Tigh shows up drunk for his testimony at the trial. On the witness stand, his inebriation is obvious. Sensing easy prey, Lampkin pounces, his lawyer's intuition leading him to ask how Tigh's wife died. Tigh admits that he himself killed Ellen. His credibility is destroyed.
By contrast, Laura Roslin's testimony against Baltar is so damning that Lampkin calls a recess to consult with Lee and his client. They must discredit Roslin. Lee admits that he knows something useful, but he hesitates to enter the moral gray area of exposing a good woman's secret to defend an accused traitor.
Then Adama accuses Lee of tipping off Lampkin to the truth about Ellen Tigh's death. Adama is wrong — Lee never even knew Tigh's murderous secret. But when Adama refuses to believe that, father and son explode into anger and Lee resigns his commission.
Now a civilian, Lee chooses to conduct Laura Roslin's cross-examination himself. Mercilessly, he extracts her secret: as he noticed earlier, her tea is laced with the herb chamalla, which can cause hallucinations. This casts suspicion on her testimony, and Lee's first dirty job as a defense attorney is done. Roslin, however, adds that she's taking the drug because her cancer has returned.
As the effects of this devastating revelation ripple outwards, the mood of the fleet darkens. Relationships fracture, tension builds, and all the while the Ionian Nebula grows closer….

| First off, I was quite impressed with Lee's decision to step down from serving under his father, after he showed absolute disbelief in him. WHEN will Adama learn to trust his son? He's never done anything. Yet, he accused his son of giving up information about Tigh and Ellen. He said to Baltar's main lawyer.. "I don't know what happened to her." That was the truth. He was never told about that. He was never involved with that group down on New Caprica, no one told him that Ellen betrayed them, for whatever reason, and that Tigh offed his own wife. So, my hat's off to Lee for pulling away from being military. Though, I wonder if he will go back, in the next season. I was sad to see his wife leave him... but she's really upset with Lee, and feels that he's betraying everything that she believes in. Yet, he feels that everyone deserves a fair trial, and that's understandable too. The start of the four hearing the music was definitely interesting, and as we've been discussing in the "spoilers" thread, I don't know that I like where this is going. I don't want to see Tyrol, Tigh, Anders, and Tory be cylons. But, there are five that we've not seen yet, and they have to be someone. I just wonder if Kara is the fifth. We shall find out next week, according the the previews on the BSG site. Finding out that Roslin's cancer is back wasn't a shock, since Heck got the spoiler info... but I felt sad for her in this episode. I just hope that she can be cured. I do wonder if Sharon and Helo will allow her to have anymore of Hera's dna though, after what she did. We shall find out, eventually, right? Speaking of Roslin... that dream/vision that she had was very interesting/strange. Why was she trying to get to Hera? Why was Sharon on the opposite side, appearing to be racing Roslin to get to her daughter? And Six shows up, picking Hera up, before the other two arrive down there. Will these three end up working together, to solve something? Will Hera be the key to solving their problems? I liked how each time Adama tried to stop something during Guias' trial, because he didn't think that some particular piece of info needed to be revealed, that the others on the "jury" overrode that. I like that he isn't in charge of everything. It's nice to see that he and/or Roslin can't control everything that happens... and that's good. They need to know that they don't RULE everything. Over all, I really liked this episode, and I think that it built up quite well for next weeks season finale. I'm sad that the show is over, until season 4 though. After all, it is my favorite show on tv. | |

| I'm a little unsure about Apollo. I don't think what he is doing is ethical. It's like he was friends and comfidant to the President, learned secret stuff, and is now using it against her. Don't seem right. It's like he became a reporter and did a tell all book. If he was a lawyer all along, then yeah, it'd be cool, but being part of a group, then backstabbing them, aint cool. Law or no law. I'm with Adama, just throw Baltar out the damn airlock and be done with it. | |

| He didn't use anything against the President. He smelled her drink and asked her, on the stand, if she was taking that drug again. But, I see where you're coming from. Apollo has never seemed comfortable in his roll as the CAG, or a Major. It's like he is trying to be the person he's wanted to be... and this is it. Who knows though. Unfortunately, if they put Baltar out the airlock, there would be a major uprising, and I don't think that they could take that. | |
