This whole song made no sense to me EVER. I like Donna Summer and my Aunt was a big disco freak back in the day. I used to listen to it all the time when I was into my retro music stage but I never got the lyrics.

MacArthur Park is supposedly and LA hangout back in the day & I thought the song was about a wedding gone wrong in a park. Dunno. I've always visualized a wedding outdoors and it starts to rain and somebody forgets about the cake and it starts to melt. The groom doesn't show up and the bride is crying.

McArthur Park is one of the silliest songs of all time, this is true.

Anything by Nirvana is usually hard to work out, and there are a lot of old blues songs that make absolutely no sense. None come to mind right now though.

Yeah, I never got into those Pumpkin lyrics. Usually, I like melodies first then I get into the lyrics if I can.

I used think that this song was about abortion, but then again....I'm not sure.

I thought this love song was about a dude who knocked up his lover & then she had an abortion without telling him. I'm probably way off...but who knows. I've been asking people for their take on this song, but no one seems to know for sure.
