| After what has been the longest running saga in the clubs history it finally looks as if Rangers will be sold in the near future. Most fans wont belive it till they see it as there have been numerous stories in the past few years about imminent takeovers but it seems that Carig Whyte will take a 75% share and Andrew Ellis will take a 25% share ( ironic as he was supposed to be buying the club on his own 6 months ago). The sale has been protarcted for a number of reasons the first being that David Murray said he would only sell to people who really cared abut the club which I agree with totally the second has been Murrays asking price he wanted around £3million to leave but it has been talked down I dont think Murray should be asking for much if anything yes he took the club to amazing places but his financial attitude also got us in the mess we are in now. Thirdly is the bank they are reluctnat to sell to just anyone and want a substantial amunt upfront or the whole debt ( £27 million) and that was the major stumbling block for Andrew Ellis.
However it looks like this takeover will happen as the appropriate notice to the stock exchan ge has been done. Whyte has said that Ally McCoist will be allowed to take over as manager next season and that he will give the club roughly £5 million per season for the next 5 years not a huge amount but £5million more thaan we have had for a long time.
It's certainly a big change for the club and i hope that with the financial issues over and new men in place it might bring a little bit extra confidence and give the players yet another incentive to win the league

| Definately seems like good news for Rangers if it goes through but, as a fan of a club that's had bad luck with owners, just have to wait and see if things turn out all right. | |

| Thats always the biggest worry with me becuase even though he made mistakes David Murray was commited to the club and wanted the best for them and of course we dont know anything about craig whyte but he says he is a fan of the club to be honest I am more worried about andrew ellis he seems to be in it for the future windfall and not much else.
I was thinking about David murray and when he bough rangers they were his second choice he wantyed to buy his hometown team Ayr utd but they said just imagining what things would have been like if they said yes probably be ayr utd in the champions league lol
