| Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb5BFm4qIowAt first I thought this was called "Lola Wants to go to the Dance" which would've made more sense. I don't quite understand the title "The Loved Ones". This looks interesting, but possibly too violent for me, but I like the concept. The psychology behind these sorts of movies and what drives people to do this sort of thing fascinates me (if it's real, this isn't real, I don't think), but the gore of the movie always puts me off watching them. I have to turn away from the screen during most of it. Is it just me, or are movies getting more and more gross, and are there more and more mainstream gross movies now? This movie won a lot of awards at Cannes (I think?), which seems to be getting more common, used to be that your average slasher flick wouldn't get any notice at a proper film festival. I suppose there were always lots of gross movies, but they never used to be so acceptable and main stream? | |

| It looks like Australian film making is finally entering the 1980s. | |

| It's hilarious that this was set as "Now Showing" ages ago (since it was new in Australia), but it is actually "Now Showing" in the US. | |
