German Goalkepper Rovert Enke has died today in what was an apparent suicide. It seems the German dived in front of a train he was 32. There is speculation that the goalkeeper never fully got over the death of his young daughter 3 years ago and that led to his suicide
This is really sad news he was an exceptional keeper and would have been the German no 1 in South Africa. Football aside he leaves behinf a wife and son.

Oh that's terrible. I've heard the name before, but couldn't place him. It's just such an awful thing to have happened, and with a wife and son at home...

I've heard of him but I dont know of him. Still was a shock when I saw the news on BBC's website last night.

Ive watched Einke play several times for Hannover 96. American Steve Cherundolo is in the starting 11, so their matches get aired over here once in a while.
I know he had recently retourned from a prolonged injury, but I hadnt heard that he had recently lost a child. If anything could drive me to the brink, thats it

There were reports n Germany that he had been getting help to get him through his grief but like Mr F said that would drive you to the brink I dont know how you even start to get over that.
Just to correct one thing Enke had an adopted daughter not a son as I said in the first post.
Still no word on what is happening with Germanys game this week and Hannovers next week I would imagine the latter will be called off at least
