Triple J Hottest 100 of All Time Empty
PostSubject: Triple J Hottest 100 of All Time   Triple J Hottest 100 of All Time Icon_minitimeSun Jul 12, 2009 10:28 pm

Triple J is a radio station over here, every year they do a "Hottest 100" CD of the top songs of the year. This year they also did a Hottest 100 of All Time.

They are an "alternative" radio station, if a DJ ever played a Britney Spears song, he'd probably get fired. So there's not going to be a lot of pop music in the list, also it's an Aussie radio station so I doubt a lot of you US folk have even heard of Silverchair or Powderfinger.

I am seriously hoping they release this as a an album, coz it would be awesome.

Awesome songs. It's like you listed most of my iTunes, except for there's not enough Billy Joel.

Seriously though, the only thing about that list that I would questions is the order in parts. When the White Stripes are above Hendrix and Marley, it's hard for me to give the list credit.

Everybody from Australia on my facebook is like updating their status to this shit. I mean, who cares what a radio station thinks is the best songs? I know what I think are the best songs... that's all that matters to me.

Also, I know you're in trouble when you have Jeff Buckley twice in the top 10. I mean come on...

Mostly because it begs the question, who in the bloody hell is Jeff Buckley?

It's not what the radio station thinks, it was voted by the public.

Yeah I don't care about it enough to update my facebook about it. Although I did post it on here .... hmmm.

Jeff Buckley, American muso, guitar player, moody, drowned, had #1 after death with a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, which also features on Rolling Stone's top 500 of All Time.

Hmm. Granted, I don't listen to much music on the radio. I have satellite radio now. Mostly listen to sports or comedy. Then I hit up the 70's or 80's channel. Maybe the Elvis channel too.

Yup. When a band has a new album coming out a temporary channel comes on for a few months. AC/DC, Coldplay, etc.

Love it.

I mean, AC/DC could stretch it, but a 24 hour Coldplay album just couldn't make it, could they? They'd just be playing the same 4 albums over and over again.

Exactly. Just playing the same shit over and over. But they do band interviews, songs from them live in concert, etc. I think Coldplay is gay, but the idea for all these channels is dope.

Plus XM has MLB, NHL and NBA. 5 comedy channels, dozens of talk channels on every subject, hundreds of music channels. Best thing ever. Jamie Foxx channel is funny at times. I like The Virus, best thing on XM.
