Woman driver 7 times over legal limit.

A woman has been charged after allegedly being caught driving with a blood-alcohol level more than seven times the legal limit.

Police spotted a car driving erratically on the Hume Highway at Casula around 11:00am today and signalled for the female driver to stop.

The 52-year-old woman, who had a toddler in the car, was given a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a reading of 0.386.

She was taken to Liverpool Police Station where police say she failed to supply a breath sample for analysis.

The woman is expected to face court next month.

I don't know what's most disturbing about this story, that it's even possible to be THAT drunk and still be upright, let alone be capable of driving; that she's a grandmother with her grandchild in the car and she's driving drunk; or that she was that drunk at 11.00 am on a Wednesday morning.

oh dear god I hope it wasn't my mum.

Why my mum would be around Casula, I don't know. It's a good 30 minute drive from her house.

7 times over the limit though... that's amazing. I've blown twice over the limit (I wasn't driving, I should point out), so I know how that feels. Definitely wouldn't even consider driving in that state.

What is the legal limit there, .05?

Regardless, that level is insane. Not sure how she could even form the thought to start a car much less drive.

Some people need a breathalizer tube attatched to their ignition.
