| An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In "Death Proof," a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In "Planet Terror," a small-town sheriffs' department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called "sickos." A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army. The two films will be fused together by fake movie trailers. trailer | |

| It looks really cool to me, but I'm thinking I will skip it. I really dig Kurt Russel, and he looks cool as hell in that car, but I don't want to see him as a serial killer. The Bruce Willis zombie part looks real good. | |

| Just doesn't grab me, at all. I'm really tired of movies of psycho people, killing others, in bizarre ways. Stop feeding the sickos with ideas of how to kill innocent people. | |

| I don't know how to take Tarantino anymore... Has he ever brought anything NEW to the screen? Or is he more of a regurgitator of the types of movies he liked to watch growing up? I have to say, I'm not really a fan. I've liked some of his stuff, but I'm not really into this guy. He's too freakin weird for me, and that's saying a LOT. I mean, I'm cool with Whizzle, even... | |

| I absolutely love Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. His style was unique but also kind of derivitive. Regardless, Pulp Fiction and to a lesser degree Reservoir Dogs was kind of a hi noir genre. The dialgoue was crisp and witty. The retro feel of it was really cool. Direction was great, as was the editing.
I also like Jackie Brown. But I think it was moreso from the actors that time around. Not to mention the movie was based on a book so he didn't have to come up with the story.
Kill Bill to me seemed like he filmed he own kung fu fantasy without regard to plausability or credibility. I get it was trying to be silly like those 70's martial arts flicks but I say pick a direction and go with it. Seemed like a long time to get to a really easy place. He didn't have to have this thing come in at 3+ hours.
Now he's only directed half of Grindhouse, remember it's bascially two smaller movies. Robert Rodriguez is almost equally as dope in my mind. Still, I think Q needs to get back to basics and stop this throwback shit.

| Kurt was on Leno last night. That guy is just a nice dude. Leno played an old clip of Kurt on Gilligans Island, swinging from a rope like tarzan. Then he made a joke about Micheal Jackson having the scene on DVD. Instead of getting pissed, Kurt starts laughing and says, 'yeah, he probably has it on some kind of loop'. He also said this movie has some awesome car chase scenes in it. Man, I want to see this movie, but I know myself, I don't go for serial killers. It would not be my kind of movie. | |

| I think that Kurt Russell is a great guy, and a wonderful actor. But, it's just too gory of a movie, I believe. That is funny though, the comments on Leno. LOL | |

| So after waiting forever to see this movie, I just decided to download the version video cammed in the cinema. Good quality, thankfully. I've only seen the beginning. It starts off with a clip for a movie, Machete, which is hilarious and dope at the same time (I think they got the guy who did the voice for movie advertisements in the 80's to do the voiceovering). Then there's Planet Terror which is a bloody brilliant movie. It totally never stops, I love it. Tarantino had a good cameo in this one. After the movie, I stopped watching. There was a clip for Werewolf Women of the SS that came on, but I turned it off then 'cause the wife got home. I hope I can see the rest of it tonight; should be great. | |

| Almost finished Death Proof now. The whole thing is awesome. The "Coming Attractions" are pretty awesome. The one for a movie called "Don't" had me in stitches laughing, and the "Thanksgiving" one is pretty damn good too. Death Proof is a slower movie than Planet Terror, but the dialogue is interesting and when the action comes it comes pretty heavy. | |
