Barack Obama vs. John McCain

Who's gonna win the title of champ of the world?

Personally, I want Obama to win. I will vote for Obama.

Obama... America is ready, and in need of, a Dem back in the White House.

Obama will get his homies over, and they'll just take out all those chumps in the old folks home. McCain included.

But seriously, I like Obama.

I like Obama over McCain. It's a narrow choice. Suffice to say, while I want Obama to be my president, I honestly don't think he will win.

Again, I will go more in depth in my reasoning later.

I think a big concern for many will be security. Obama recently came out and said he'd abolish Guantanama and set up a new tribunal system (different to the one they're doing now), and he'll follow the geneva convention. I respect this, but Americans will probably be pissed.

Not so much. In our press, Gitmo rarely comes up. I imagine that most in the South hardly regard it.

Oh absolutely not, but my concern has always been: how many are there because they're terrorists (I'm sure plenty), and how many are there just 'cause (there have been a fair few cases, probably more still to come out). I mean, the argument in America is better safe than be sorry later on... but what about an innocent man's safety and well being? Of course the government doesn't mind sacrificing folks, 'slong as they're not Americans.

Pfff.

So anyway, yeah. Obama's cool.

McCain's a douche. He's gonna go ape shit one day, I just know it. He has that weird temper, he's like the hulk only bad. So I guess he's abomination? what's that villain's name?

If McCain wins it's gonna be like the last nearly 8 miserable years.

With gas prices being so damn high (($4.52 people)) people here are going to vote for who will give them more $$ in their pockets. Obamba is looking better and better.

McCain does have that freaky temper. I also expect him to go all freaky tantrum like sometime.

CNN did a poll in California and said that most people aren't too concerned about petrol prices.

I called bull shit on it; where the fuck did they go for this poll? Malibu?

Are they crazy? People out here are pissed off about the price of gas. I think they would elect ANYONE if they thought that person could do something about it. Higher gas prices raise the price of nearly everything especially food. Maybe CNN polled retired people who it doesn't effect.

Could have been. I mean, the only people who can be bothered actually answering polls are usually the elderly. I took place in a poll once and it took me half an hour. I didn't mind at the time, but thinking back... I'd like that half hour BACK.

Petrol prices are a major concern all over the world (I think the UK has the worst petrol prices at the moment, I've heard it's more than double what the US is paying). I heard this morning Saudi oil whatsies are going to start producing more, so that should help. Will it ease the price though? I'm not sure, the news seemed to think it will.

I'm sick about the price of gas reaching almost $5 a gallon. I'm already spending $75 a pop to fill my tank, and I only get 14.5 miles per gallon in my suv. *sigh*

$75 bucks is unbelievable. Our Smart doesn't use as much petrol as the much bigger cars, or even the moderate sized cars, so we don't get it that bad (plus the tank is small). I think we spend about $30 a week, but that's just for Yoyo to go to and from work and a trip or two to the shops (which aren't far).

I'm taking the train every day.

My big thought is: if we hadn't invaded Iraq, would we really be having this conversation right now?

I think it's pretty silly to elect a president based on gas prices. I'd gladly pay 4 something if we can get a non-douche in the White House.

I'm interested to see who McCain brings into the fold. That might swing the vote for me one way or the other, or not at all.

Obama's inexperience and radical pals makes me nervous. Biden as running mate was too safe. It's like brining your sister to the prom.
