This is my favorite Star Trek. Scared the tar outta me as a kid. A lot of things are not like the normal Star Trek, as this was the second pilot. The first of course, had Pike as Captain.

This one has the "second" doctor (Dr. Piper), the one after Pikes doctor, and before McCoy.

Scotty calls the transporter a "laser materialiser" or some rot. ha ha. The music is off, the camera angles weird. I like it cause they don't show it that much and it still feels new.

The ship looks weird, it has different colors on the walls inside. Different struts and you see the roof a lot.

Spock is still not quite Spock, he doesn't out and right smile like in the first pilot, but he does smirk a lot and smile with his eyes, and his eyebrows are all messed up.

Funny!

But the story is cool, this guy scared me as a kid, he had all that power, I wanted Kirk to give up and just let him win.

The plot is ludicris. An 200 year old Earth ship made it to the edge of the galaxy on impulse power. Whatever. Kirk and crew find it, or the probe from it, and then they exit the galaxy.

And if you leavethe galaxy, and get struck by the mysterius lightning, you become a God. An evil God, but a God none the less.

So, all you gotta do is cruise out of the galaxy and you become God...funny no one does that in future Star Trek episodes.

The title sounds like something that'd be used for lesbian-themed porn.

Cruising out of the galaxy can't have been easy for them, could it? I mean, in this episode they were probably right there... but normally they may be somewhere else.

I thought about it, but we normally think of them heading towards the end of our spiral.

Why not head straight up? The galaxy is more or less flat compared to it's length.

Star Trek has a real two dimensional view of the Galaxy. Like when Borg attack and bother going past jupitor and mars. Bull butter, they would bypass all that, shoot in from above and go to Earth at our north pole.

That's true, they always go left, right, or sideways.... you never do see them heading upwards or downwards... When they really could. They're in a space-ship, after all.

They redid this one with the new computer effects. Havn't seen it yet.

They done the whole first season. I haven't gotten around to seeing any of them yet though.

They're doing the second season now, it'll be released later this year.

They come on every saturday night here at 10:00

I'v caught about 6 or 7 of them. Real fun to watch, makes it seem new again.

That's cool, I wish they showed it here. I've really been meaning to watch the show from the beginning
