The US and Mexico played to a 2-2 draw tonight in front of 70,000 spectators in Houston TX. It was a very entertaining match that probably deserved to end in a draw as both sides controlled parts of the match but neither really dominated
Goals were from Oguchi Onyewu, and Jozy Altidore ( the latter on his first start ). Solid performances were also on display from starters Clint Dempsey and Carlos Bocanegra, as well as subs Freddy Adu and Maurice Edu. The MVP in my opinion was keeper Tim Howard. His recent form has landed him squarely in the #1 roster spot, Kasey Kellar or no Kasey Kellar.
Mexico goals were both from set pieces. Very disappointing considering the size advantage of the US. Identical goals from an identically un-marked Jony Magallon with an identically out of position Drew Moore looking identically inept.
