| I hope they don't cancel the oscars. will the actors really boycott the biggest awards of the year? come on...... they better not. I would be so upset, I wait for this day every year, we have a mini party at home and everything. I guess we'll see. i watch the GGs each year too. I didn't want to watch them just naming off the winners. That's horrible. | |

| Atonement sounds cool, but I kind of know the story already. If they did it in a way that makes sense, that's very cool.
I haven't seen a lot of the listed flicks yet, so I don't think I can say one way or the other on what I think should win.

I WON!
I liked Atonement, the movie. Loved the book too. Eventhough I already knew what was gonna happen, I still had the tears in the movie. I thought they did a great job.
I added the rest of the films I didn't catch to my netflix. Can't wait.

| One movie I've been desperately wanting to watch is that Edith Piaf bio-pic. Forget the name, but I'm pretty sure it was a French movie... I know I'm gonna like that one.
Oh, it's written above. La Vie En Rose.

This was the convo we had before the movie: KEY = HECK! = Illuminate "So, I read about this movie, No Country For Old Men, supposed to be really good." "Eh :::picks nose::: I want to see some turdy movie with a bunch of jerks." "Yeah, well the Cohen Brothers directed it. They rule." "Bleh, I don't like their movies :::licks finger::: and if I know anything at all about movies in my life, this movie will suck, mark my words." "I think you'll like it." "Trust me, there is no way anyone will ever like this movie, ever. NEVER!" And scene. *Some artistic license was taken. -HECK!

| omg. you are such a liar!!!! i'm cracking up.
truth: i didn't want to see it at first. But because i'm such a wonderful gf, I said I'd see it b/c you really wanted to.
truth: i didn't really think the flow was good, the story was a little confusing but I said it was pretty good none the less.
truth: i left the theatre saying the acting was amazing and JB will definitely be nominated, if not WIN, for an oscar.
truth: you said the movie was awesome, jb will be nominated and brolin will be nominated.
so what does that mean? you were completely wrong!!!!!

I bet the Oscar guys are spitting chips.

| Yeah, I don't think she did the singing in the movie. It sounds like Edith Piaf. But I know she does sing for real. But not THAT good. I wanna see that video of her saying that. That's funny and ridiculous. | |

| It wasn't all Piaf either, though. According to imdb:
French singer Jil Aigrot is credited with the vocals for some of Piaf's songs, particularly those from Piaf's younger years (e.g., Mon Homme, Les Mômes de la Cloche, Mon Légionnaire, and Les Hiboux), songs for which there are no recordings by Edith Piaf. Aigrot has also been credited with the vocals for Padam Padam and has recently released an album of Piaf songs called Words of Love: The Voice of Jil Aigrot. Child singer Cassandre Berger performed La Marseillaise.
This Aigrot woman did an incredible job then. I may try to track down the album they mention.

| I'm surprised Padam wasn't, because I know there's recordings of Edith Piaf singing that song. Perhaps it wasn't the performance the director wanted. | |
