Whidden's Vegas Trip

Uh, talked to the sales guy today, and he is going to email me the dates and details of the vegas trip,

but it's sometime in March I think, and I stay at the MGM hotel.


Friday, Sat and Sunday. But I don't have the 100% go ahead yet, but it's almost a sure thing.

My mum was so happy when she met Wayne Newton in Vegas. Got her CD signed and a photo with him and everything.

I'm thinking some showgirl stuff, maybe catch a tiger show, drink some beer, gamble, get some hookers, I want to be on Cops and get a good taser, I want to see Clooney and crew take a casino for 10 million dollars,

What could you possibly have to do in Vegas, if I may ask?

Iscar, aka Israel Carbide, is having a carbide insert seminar. They pay for the plane ticket, the hotel, the food, etc, and you go and attend the insert show.


We use carbide inserts to cut the metal we machine.

Niiiiice. Seminars are the best. You don't need to do jack, just be there and drink and eat everything you want.

That's some lathe inserts, they are carbide, they are harder and stronger than the metal, so turn the insert or turn the metal, and when they meet, it's time for some metal to hit the floor.

They don't glow like that though. Wish they did. That would be cool.

Am I the only one who's always left with the impression that they could never do the job The Whid does? Not in a million years. Confusing as hell.

Nah, it aint that bad. Just hard to explain.

Anyhow, those endmills on the mill and the insert on the lathe that cut the metal are made of either carbide or high speed steel. I'm going to a carbide show for Iscar.
