Pop culture superstar Fergie has joined an already stellar line-up of guest artists for the 25th anniversary edition of Michael Jackson's Thriller, the world's biggest selling album of all time. Alongside new remixes of classic Jackson tracks by musical contemporaries Kanye West, will.i.am. and Akon, Fergie has added her signature vocals to a new version of "Beat It" entitled "Beat It 2008," produced and mixed by her fellow Black Eyed Pea will.i.am.

Epic/Legacy Recordings proudly celebrates the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Thriller with a newly expanded deluxe edition of the phenomenal record-breaking pop culture touchstone, available in the U.S. on Tuesday, February 12, 2008. The album will be available worldwide the week of February 11, 2008.

The Michael Jackson Thriller 25th anniversary celebration kicks off in December 2007 with the release of a new single and continues throughout 2008 with a multi-faceted global marketing campaign featuring high-profile television, radio and online events around the world.

The Thriller - 25th Anniversary Edition will include the original album in its entirety as well as seven bonus tracks and a DVD featuring Michael Jackson's groundbreaking short films from Thriller ("Thriller," "Beat It," and "Billie Jean") and the artist's Emmy-nominated breakout performance of "Billie Jean" from the legendary "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever" television special (first broadcast on NBC on May 16, 1983).

The newly expanded version of Thriller premieres six tracks previously unreleased in any form: "Beat It 2008" with Fergie; a new Kanye West remix of "Billie Jean"; a new 2008 version of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" with Akon; will.i.am remixes of "The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T."; and "For All Time," a rare unreleased cut from the original Thriller recording sessions, newly mixed and mastered by Michael Jackson.

The deluxe Thriller - 25th Anniversary Edition packaging contains a personal greeting from Michael Jackson to his fans penned exclusively for this special release.

Fergie? Really? ............

I think PYT with will.i.am and Billie Jean with Kanye West should be cool, but Fergie .......... ??

None of them seem the least bit interesting to me, to be honest. I mean, it could come out sounding awesome... but at the end of the day, it's more likely to be a complete mess. I'm just hoping MJ added new vocals himself and it's not just Will.i.Am and Kanye West messing around with classic songs.

I don't think Michael Jackson is re-recording any of the songs, they're just digitally fixing the songs up and them playing around with them.

Lame.

Akon spooks me more than Fergie. When will people realize he's just gimmicy? He's got no real talent.

I totally realise that. Can't stand him.

I don't get how he sells as big as he does. His vocals are just irritating, and his music sounds like its put together with a $50 Toys-R-Us Kiddy Keyboard.

But I digress...

I have like 4 copies of Thriller and I will totally get this... but I can't imagine the new stuff's going to add anything. I already have the song For All Time (beautiful track) and the Vincent Price voice-over sessions were on the 2001 re-release. A full version of the song Carousel would be nice.

This comes out today (here in Taiwan, tomorrow in the US. It's the same day, but 16 hours apart). Anywhoo, I'm not rushing out to get it, but I will be buying it some time this week. Probably on Saturday.

They had like an hour of Michael's music videos on VH1 Soul today. It was kinda cool seeing my dad remember the songs and singing along (and attempting to dance around the house). I was kinda wondering why they were all focused on Jackson today but now I know.

Great album... too bad the man is such a freak-of-nature!

Beat It with Fergie SUCKS!

You can't hardly tell when she's singing and when Michael's singing, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing??

I haven't heard a single track from it yet. I keep telling myself I'll grab it, but I just haven't.

One day... it's weird that this isn't on my CD buying priorities right now.

I got the CD over the weekend. Absolutely horrible remixes, remakes or whatever they're supposed to be. Simply terrible.

At least it's got 'For All Time' on it. Almost worth the price of the CD.
