Long waiting fans of “Battlestar Galactica” can satisfy a bit of their craving for new material in the latest movie from Sci Fi: "Battlestar Galactica Razor" prior to the fourth and final season of the show.

The film - which airs at 9 p.m. Saturday on Sci Fi - has the same layered and complex feel of the continuing Science fiction series "BG" on television.
"Razor" covers three overlapping stories: one set in the past when a young William Adama first fought the Cylons, the recent past when the Battlestar Pegasus survived the first Cylon onslaught and the "Galactica" present when the Pegasus is under the command of Lee (Apollo) Adama, shortly before the discovery of New Caprica, when Commander Adama takes command of the Battlestar Pegasus.
One of his first command decisions on the Pegasus involves the promotion of Kendra Shaw to Executive Officer.
“Razor” is her story, reaching back to the moments before the attack on the Twelve Colonies. The real heart of "Razor" is the story line involving the Pegasus, a spaceship separated from Galactica and the main fleet in the Cylon attack.
Commanded by the tough cookie Helena Cain, the Pegasus played a big part in Season 2 of the series and now viewers get to see its dark back story.
Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen portrays Shaw with a nuanced performance, necessary to relay the complexity of her character.
The art department, which is overseen by production designer Richard Hudolin and art director Doug McLean, along with cinematographer Stephen McNutt all outdid themselves for "Razor"
"Razor" is rooted in the series’ mythology, and successfully connects the third and upcoming fourth seasons.
In the end, “Razor” delivers solid material of the New Caprica period. It will just leave you sitting on your hands waiting for the fourth and final season, hopefully to air this spring.

I watched it, it was pretty tight. Liked most of it.

I was very very very very so very much let down when they showed the old toaster models, and they did them with CGI. They looked like cartoons.

Actually made me angry. Should have been an awesome moment, but they went with a cheap cartoon look rather than get some guys in the old chrome suits. It really made me sick.

The Admiral Cain and her "Razor" chicks decline into barbarism was believeable. Their war crimes were pretty cruel, you could see why they did them, but they were still repulsive.

I enjoyed most of the show, it did get a little confusing as the present day was a flashback in itself to the time before Baltar was President and they stopped on the planet.

Then, we had two flashback points from this present day flashback, one of Adama from 40 years ago, and the other what happened to the Pegasus and crew from the start of the Cylon war.

Seeing the old cylons ships made me happy, I was getting hyped about the old cylon units, then they cut to them in the ship, and it's like fake cartoon time, lets ****ing jar jar binks the hell out of our chrome friends.

I felt blood vessels popping in my head, I had to remind myself that I'm an old guy and old guys get angry over silly ****, and I calmed myself down some.

No, it didn't. But it did give some chump prophecy about Starbuck being a harbenger of doom.

This is the first time ever that I have posted from work. I feel like this means something.

I'm on lunch. I'm posting. I have arrived. Now I'm like everyone else. I feel like I fit in.

Is this online? I've checked all over. Sci-Fi doesn't plan on airing it again over the next few months. It's not released on DVD until December something. Sucks.

If you watch that link, check it at

1 hour 6 minutes 30 seconds

that's where the fake CGI cylons show up, I about had a cow over it. I'm watching it again right now, it's not so bad on the small screen, still fake as hell. I'm glad they tried, but they should have went old school dammit, put some dude in a robot suit.

Hope it's still on there.

I've read some pretty good review of it so far.

Any new Galactica is worth it, I guess. Even though they are messing with the last season, spacing it out as much as they are. Still 5 months away from new shows.

Just watched it, thanks again for the link bro.

POSSIBLE SPOILER AND OTHER RANDOM TALKIE TALK

I liked it. Interesting stuff. It wasn't great. Seemed like a lot of fluff and filler.

The side story with original toasters was cool. I agree, the CGI was a little weak. Cool seeing them.

No Baltar, hardly any Sharon, no Tyrol, barely any Tigh...

At first glance I find myself liking Admiral Cain less. Not so much her harsh tactics, I get she made those hard choices, but it came across that she was just super pissed that her girlfriend was a Cylon.

The main chick was cool. Her accent drifted in and out, was she Australian?

Anyway, I dug it. Good times. Let's all hold hands until April.

She was odd, looked Chinese, but talked like Gaboman.

She was a lot purtier than Gabo, the suit fit nice. I dig that she was under pressure, but in real life, she wouldn't get much sympathy from me, shooting that woman like she did.

She was sorry, and made up for it and all, but DAMN, I tell ya what, in that room, I would have turned the gun on her and mowed her down if she would have shot some civilians like that.

Col. Tigh did the same thing, but they were protesting in his face, you could make the argument that his crew was in danger, but still, what he did sucked too.

Adama had the same choice. Help the misfit civilian fleet along, and protect them, or steal their stuff and leave em for dead. He made all the right choices.

It's an interesting allegory between what went down with Pegasus and Galactica when they faced very, very similar extreme circumstances.

Galactica left a small chunk of the fleet with crappy engines behind to get slaughtered by the Cylons.

Like Adama said though, without Roslin or the rest of his tight crew maybe he would have made those dark choices.

Me, I would have left them all, tried to hook up with a Boomer model, and make her fall in love with the Whid. Cruise the skies in my Battlestar, me and Boomer model would stop by planets and help out the less fortanate, like an antithesis to what Janeway and crew were trying to make happen.

We roll up on some planet in a plauge, we jump in, we set up a puppet government, we hand out some vaccine, we cruise.

Yeah, we take the ****** prime directive, and me and Boomer send that gutless peice of Star Fleet dogma straight down the crapper.

We find some planet, some wierdo Nazi types are taking over, we nuke their capital, we move on.

We find some planet, they don't have warp drive yet, but we feel like showing up, giving them a heads up on the cylons that are following us, we don't care, we tell the whole scoop.

Hell yeah, leave behind the fleet, tell Roslin to stick it, take off with Boomer and call it a day.

remember when galactica first met the pegasus, when col. ty and the pegasus ex-o (forget his name) were swapping war stories and he told ty about the admiral shooting the former ex-o on the bridge and ty gets all weirded out and the pegasus ex-o tries to play it off?

i thought seeing that scene play out in razor was a good move.

yeah, it was mostly for the die-hard fans that just want something to hold [YES GREEN BAY JUST SCORED AGAIN!] 80yd TD pass by favre] them off til march. [dang it!!! flag on the play. no score.]

[scratch that. the flag was on the PAT. redo PAT. TD was good.]
